mm\'hmm. They totally re-wrote it from the book. Which is fine in most parts, but leaves some lacking, like crucial elements on why he eats people. Also takes quite awhile to get goin\'.

Not better then Silence of the Lambs. Not even equal to it. But still, worth seeing.

It was a darkness all my own, a song played on the radio, It went straight to my heart - I carried it with me - until the darkness was gone.

THe book explains he had a sister and she was eaten and some other dramatic things. I don\'t want to spoil it all. But anyways, it damages him and he is haunted by dreams of her, in the book. The movie leaves this whole thing out. In the book, Hannibal and Clarice save each other from their inner demons. Hannibal teaches Clarice about not being afraid and such. And she takes away his pain and mourning for his dead sister.

Man, you could see the movie and you could go home and read the book and still be suprised. They basically rewrote the whole thing, except the most underlying parts. Still, it may be a good idea to wait just for the fun. I got the book soon as it came out so I\'ve been looking forward to the movie for awhile now.

Not sure if it lived up to my expecations or not yet. I am going to go see it again Monday and maybe see if it seems different, in a new view. I haven\'t slept in close to 48 hours, so my attenion wasn\'t all on the movie. So, who knows.

Thanks for the impressions. I\'m going to go see it nonetheless, and not fearing that the movie will spoil the book.

Now, critics have said the movie is very gruesome. Is this true? :)

In my personal opinion, no. It is over the top in some violence scenes. But, I didn\'t find it gruesome.

Thanks for the good impressions!

I just saw it and thought it was worht the money to see it.

It doesn\'t have alot of violence but in the scenes that it has the violence it is very grizzly indeed.

I loved sitting in the dark movie theater and listening to the audience cringe at what was on screen. My thoughts was that it was a really good film.

Don\'t compare it to the book, that gets rather silly in todays world where we all know the book will always be a cut above the film.
