Bandit, Thanks for the explanation. You brought up the 2 year PS2 warranty, how exactly does this work? I mean I purchased the 2 year warranty when I got my PS2 on launch, but the sales clerk didn\'t throughly explain to me what it does. Like if my PS2 were to not work one day because of say... overheated or the disk tray wasn\'t openning, could I take it back and get a brand new unit? And does this apply for the entire two years? These are questions I have wanted to ask for a long time now, but I never seemed to remember them when I\'m at EB. Thanks for the info.
as for your question about the ESA [Extended Service Agreement] warranty..if you purchased the warranty, if anything and i mean anything happens [scratch on GBC lense, drop it in toilet, your PS2 is thrown out of 30th floor window, run over by car, dropped it but still works] within 1-2 years [depending on how many years your warranty is for], you can return it and get a
NEW PS2, GBC, DC, etc..you can return it as MANY times as you want within the 1-2 years..if you purchased the warranty..you MUST hold on to the pink slip [ESA - Extended Service Agreement], its the form that you filled out [there was a white slip on top and a pink one under it]. without the pink slip your pretty much arsed out.
same goes with 1 year ESA warranty as well..
in my opinion its WAY better then manufactures warranty..YES they give you 1 year but the shipping cost is horrendous..$30+ for shipping ? while you pay $10, $17, $30$50 depending on how many years the warranty is..and you can return or exchange it as many times as you want..so i dont know why people dont want the warranty if you ask me..i try to encourage them to get it incase ANYTHING happens to the system..especially with GBC for lil kids [drops it, scratch on screen] and PS2, PS1, and DC [systems doesnt read disc, overheats, controller dont work], not to mention i get commission on the warranties ! ;-)
