I\'ve been a die-hard Triple Play junkie for a long time. In fact, I can remember baseball games, in general, that take me back to my Commodore 64 and cheesy little stick figures on a blaringly obscene orange and green field of play (ah, but those days playing that game with my Dad...I\'ll never forget). Anyway, check out the following preview if you share this love for the ball with 118 stiches:
http://ps2.ign.com/previews/15848.htmlInteresting too, in the preview of this game, that it is indicated that EA Sports is trying to get the gamer even more into the environment with
"..., the game\'s developers have also decided to try and create a better feeling of being at a real ball game. While they won\'t be able to simulate a drunk fan spilling his beer on you and not even caring about it, the game does boast some brand new cinematic out-of-play sequences that should allow players to feel like they\'re at a real game. These sequences will include scripted animations of umpire arguments, high-fives, and end-of-game celebrations."I\'d add one more suggestion for developers trying to create a better feeling of "being there" (and this suggestion is to be inclusive for *all* sports titles)...consider some sort of cut-scene pan across various parts of the fan stadium. You know, close-ups of raving fans that lift posters, offer thumbs up to the camera, and/or just react surprised to find that they are on camera at all (seeing themselves in on the stadium big screen, etc. from a profiled shot)...you know what I mean. That would be a cool addition during those moments when players switch up at bat, coaches call time to speak with the pitcher, etc.
Anyway...I\'m looking very forward to this title (...and I hope it does better than NBA 2001 did on PS2).
Thanks,
