EA delays TWINE PS2

The PlayStation 2 version of The World Is Not Enough has been in development for quite some time, and it has been delayed again.

GameSpot has learned that Electronic Arts has delayed the release of The World Is Not Enough for the Sony PlayStation 2. The game was originally on track to be released in Q4 2001, but it has now been pushed back to a tentative release in fiscal 2002. The delay is a result of EA\'s desire to create a product that is optimized for the PlayStation 2. The company hopes to create a version of TWINE that is appreciably different, particularly from a visual perspective, from the PlayStation and Nintendo 64 versions. When contacted for comment, an Electronic Arts representative told GameSpot, "EA has released no new information on the James Bond franchise, so we can\'t confirm the rumors."

TWINE for the PlayStation 2 was originally announced in early 2000. The game will include 20 different weapons and gadgets, as well as larger maps.

Are you insane! I love her character, she stays.

I believe they have been having trouble using the Quake 3 with the PS2. Its going to be interesting to see how they are going to work out a single player Quake 3. I have waited to play TWINE on the PS2 because I heard it was beautiful but I also heard it was cancelled weeks ago. Go figure. Lets hope they can work it out. As far as this game optimized for the PS2 lets hope its not that Bond racing that just came out for PS and if it is lets hope they do a better job with it.

That\'s true Sougrind. A lot of companies are seeing the rushed stuff that is coming out now, and I think people are respnding by not buying it. Instead of rushing stuff out like 989 they are waiting. In the case of Gran Turismo, I think now it is to the point that they are waiting for financial reasons. I bet we don\'t see it until fall/winter so it can sell more.

yea i but still that companies should incorporate that into their release

i hate nothing more than waiting for a game to be released and all of a sudden it is held back for a undertermined amount of time - then how am i suppost to believe whe the next game comes around that it will actually be released on its date

i mean it is a release date not a date to catch peoples\' attention and hype up the games\' release only to dissaopint and hold it back

i really get bummed out by that
This Sig is a Work in Progress.

Now this is disappointing news. I was really waiting for TWINE. Altho\' it doesn\'t consider me that much; I wouldn\'t have money anyways and there\'s lots of great games coming, still it\'s disappointing.

But it\'s just good if the game is updated and made perfect-looking, and bigger, larger and meaner.

Ok, I just notice the xboxfanboy thing but here it goes anyway.

Why would EA want to turn on its biggest money maker?
