I agree with the ape. The DC is far from dead. It has a lot more good games out for it than the PS2.(Although it has been out a year longer) I suggest you play some of the AAA games on the DC and then take a look at the AAA games on the horizon.

I think what bothers a lot of us (and me personally) is that we like to plan long-term.  I don\'t mind spending my $300 on a PS2 because I expect to get lots of enjoyment on it for years to come.  I expect there to be plenty of games to come out and keep coming in the years ahead.

On the DC however, things aren\'t so certain.  Got some stuff for this year, but the next...?

It\'s kind of the same thing I\'m going through in my own personal dilema of my building my next pc.  Should I go DDR or PC133 Athlon?  If I go Pc133 I\'ll save $$$, but if I go DDR I\'ll probably have a much longer-lasting system.

So to summarize, different traits appeal to different people.

BTW Clyde rules.

I say go PC133. It is a lot cheaper and it is not going anywhere anytime soon. BTW, You should get it from buy.com. I don\'t how or why the Memory is ridiculously cheap there but I don\'t complain. You can get 256megs PC133 for like $80. That is sick. I would say use PC133 just because of this sick price. You could get a tricked out system with 768 megs of ram(depending on the motherboard) and be set for at least a year(depending on what kind of software you plan on using).

Gohan I\'ll check it out.  When I visit http://www.anandtech.com and they compare, DDR comes up with only an 8% advantage, but in the next couple years that could jump.

My current PC is PII-350mhz and 128 RAM that has lasted me 3-4 years.  I\'d like to build a DDR 1 Ghz Thunderbird that would last just as long.  But if the price on 133 is as good as you say.....Hell I don\'t know.

Also I hear that Windows will only recognize up to 256 RAM.
