Something funny at blockbuster today!

I went to rent a DVD at blockbuster today(UK),and as i walk up to the check out,i see this guy renting a PS2 game,and some **** behind the counter said"Once the Xbox gets here,say buy buy to the PS2"This made me really angry,because this guy hasent got a clue what he is talking about,so i started saying some comments out loud about the PS2, and how it isnt going any where,and that he didnt know what he is talking about,i made sure that he could hear,and when i got to the check out he started being really nice,which made me laugh.
But i think i heard a few other people saying things like this,have happen to them on the forum,so what are your storys?

My friend thinks the computer rules everything and that when the XBox comes out, since microsoft makes it, it will be the best thing in the world. When I told him I got Ps2 he said that I wasted my money and that in a year it will be nothing. So one day he came over and he started to play TimeSplitters with me and he started denying everything he said in the past about the PS2.

People like this exist everywhere... I always hear XBOX fanboys say stuff like the PS2 isn\'t gonna live, etc, etc

Personally, I think I have more a problem w/ XBOX fans than the GC fans... the GC fans seem quite subtle and not too obnoxious....

Back to the point... I didn\'t want a PS2 when I owned a DC because I thought the PS2 was crap - and then I saw it at my friend\'s house and this didn\'t really change my mind, I still thought it was crappy...

Then the DC lost it\'s value and luckily I sold it to break even (which is very good considering I had it for 2 years

so I finally ordered my PS2 bundle @ EBWORLD, and when I finally played it, I was astounded - especially w/ the vibrant colors...

And then I realize that my friend was running his pS2 on a Sony Wega 20 inch w/ composite and I was running on a 27 inch Sony Trinitron (10 years old! w/ an S-Video...

I love my PS2 and refuse to get shortsided by comments from fanboys

I got a suggestion.  When you hear something like that and it pisses ya off just reply, "I was thinking about getting one of those X thingies but then I remembered I already had a PC..."  :{>

It\'s clear that NO Japanese companies have made Xbox #1 focus. And even Namco may have to spin off a company to make Gamecube and Xbox games, because of such close ties to Sony. From what I am seeing, Xbox doesn\'t stand a chance in Japan, and may even go the way of the 3DO here. So? Silent Hill X, and MGSX? 2 PS2 ports, (god knows what they really are) will not sell systems. and from what I hear, Japanese people don\'t like FPS games and strategy games, which is all Xbox has to offer. I may get an Xbox if it prooves it\'s self, but I sure as hell ain\'t getting one with what I\'ve seen so far... I do want a Gamecube though. Did you know, that my local EB has only 4 xbox preorders? yes, thats 4! and over 20 Gamecube preorders? Microsoft won\'t be able to take europe, because Sony has an %80 market share. And that delay won\'t help. But, if Micorosoft does take over the console industry, there will be no Nintendo, no Sega, and no SCEA

If MS give X-Box incarnations of NBA Inside Drive, NFL Fever, Midtown and Motocross Madness, and get Konami\'s KCET team to make soccer games for them, I\'m there. If they don\'t give me my sports games then I\'ll pass, because I\'m not too excited by their other \'exclusives\' or \'me too X\' ports.

I usually never get involved in those kind of conversations. i usually ask "What makes you think that?". ON a side note I plat to buy the GC, GBA, X-Box, and the Wonderswan color if it ever gets over here. I\'ll start another thread on that.

What really gets me thinking are the people hwo siad that the PS2 would kill the Dreamcast. Almost one year after it was released the Dreamcast is no more, and I meen this in the sence that they are no longer in production. Its just the irony in it all.

People that say stuff like this don\'t know alot about computers.A guy I know says the X-Box will rule the world and the PS.2 or NGC don\'t have a chance.He thinks he is a computer wiz.He says AMD sucks (the stupid bastard) without having anything to back up his statements.WinME is a good OS to him etc.Well this same person bought a Compaq 1Ghz PC with 64mb of ram and a ATi Rage vid card.Ohh and he thought he was buying a Intel system,but he bought an AMD based system.

My older brother dident think much of PS2 before he saw it.
I cloud see it in his face. He was really impressed by SSX and Tekken Tag.

BTW: I kick his ass in TTT and SSX, because he is more intresed in Counterstrike..

And my little brothers friend hated the PS2. But he changed his mind when he saw SSX, the first thing he said was

Where did anyone diss the Xbox?The reason i started this thread is because it pisses me off,people saying stuff that they dont know anything about,why make such a stupid statement,about the Xbox.
No one knows what the Xbox is going to be like,i mean the N64 was more powerful then the playstation,but did that win last generation no,why?because it didnt have the software,and at the moment the japanese developers arn\'t saying much about comitment to the Xbox,but all these PS2 and Gamecube games are being annouced and not many Xboxs games,but i am not dissing the Xbox,because i plan to have ever next gen console,but if Xbox doesnt get more games,and i dont want Metal gear solid X,because i am going to have Metal Gear solid 2 on my PS2.
So dont say that any of the other members or my self are stupid either,because i asked if other people had heard other people saying stupid things like the Xbox is easily going to win,because know one knows what the out come is going to be.

P.S I AM NOT A FANBOY GOT THAT,I HAVE A DREAMCAST AND AM GOING TO GET THE OTHER CONSOLES,O.K

Whether the x-box is successful or not is insignificant.  To try and correlate the two systems is meaningless.  All that matters are the games, and I know what companies make the games that I love (Konami, Square, capcom).  Here\'s something I bet you didn\'t know, most Japanese companies have an old saying: "All things not made by Japan, never work in Japan".  I\'m sure that most companies will stick to that superstition, and try their best to not work with microsoft.  The prejudice that thrives their will not cease for the sake of microsoft.  Sad but true.

Whoops, I just read what I wrote and realized how corny it sounded.  But we really shouldn\'t be so hateful torwards everyone else for their opinions.  Don\'t get me wrong, I understand where everyone\'s coming from, but it\'s just not cool.  We should all just mind our own selves, and keep our opinions amongst friends.  But if someone happens to try and pull false rumors up on you about Square working for microsoft, slap them in their faces with reality and tell them that "it\'s hilghly unlikely".  Those loosely based rumors dancing around the internet are VERY stupid and unconfirmed.  

Yep, for instance MGS2 is gonna be delayed until the year 2020 and will only be available on the Zenith SuperGame4000 console...  :{>
