I play piano ( as it is my 1st instrument, and my only one at the time ), and I have to agree with Hawke that playing songs and music from games is very much fun; something you really like to do with your instrument.
If the melody is simple, it doesn\'t mean you couldn\'t play it powerfully and complexfully, so the hearer of the music will think the piece is hard. And I love to improvise on the game-tunes a bit; and I love to close my eyes ( when I\'ve learned to play the piece very well ), and think about the game-scene and play.
I\'ve enjoyed much listening/playing the musics of these games...
- Final Fantasy VII ( I love the "Cry of the Earth", or what was it called again... )
- Final Fantasy VIII ( I love the theme of the Witch... it\'s so evil in a mysterious way )
- Final Fantasy IX ( yes, in this short period of time I\'ve learned to play some of the tunes... somewhat I absolutely love the main tune, wich opens when squaresoft logo appears.. it\'s so... medieval )
Like you may see, I\'m a FF -geek
- Monkey Island tm ( especially the 3rd game in the serie; Curse - I usually play the main theme of Monkey Island )
my list doesn\'t end here but there\'s so many tunes I\'ve played that I don\'t remember them all. Just the most clearest and dearest ones
[/list]
But I also love to play some pieces made by Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Mozart etc. ( well, I love to play them when I CAN play them... practising is always frustrating!!! )
And Jazz-songs. eSpecially improvising.
