As in, what\'s your repertoire, regardless of style, or instrument.

I\'m just a beginner with my instrument, so that\'s what I\'ve working on since July 99 (in chronological order):

Rieding - student violin concerto no.2 all movements
Seitz - student violin concerto no.2 all movements
Vivaldi - violin concerto in a minor, 1st and 3rd movements
Rachmaninoff - Vocalise
Bach - violin concerto #1 in a minor, 1st movement
Bach - 3rd double from the Partita #1
Bach - violin concerto #3 in d minor, 1st movement (just starting; will learn Violin solo I and Violin solo II parts simultaneously)

I play mostly game music on the piano nowadays. I\'m making some arrangements so I could perform them with our band sometime in the future.

Right now my repertoire includes, amongst other pieces :
  • Succession of the Witches (from Final Fantasy VIII)
  • Fisherman\'s Horizon (FFVIII)
  • Blue Fields (FFVIII)
  • Tina (FFVI)
  • Spinach Rag (FFVI)
  • Waltz de Chocobo (FFVI)
  • Mystic Forest (FFVI)
  • Coin Song (FFVI)
  • Celes (FFVI)
  • The Decisive Battle (FFVI)
  • Kids Run Through the City Corner (FFVI)
  • Battle with Gilgamesh (FFV)

And as you can see I like Final Fantasies\' music. Uematsu is my hero :D I also play other game music, all kinda little pieces from here and there, Castlevania, Xenogears, Gradius, etcetc.

I love playing game music, since, for example elderly people certainly haven\'t indulged themselves in this field. Bach\'s Air or Beethoven\'s Pathetic Sonnet didn\'t bring tears to the audience\'s eyes last time, but Mystic Forest did. After the performance I was addressed by an old lady who said she felt exactly like she\'d been walking in a strange forest during the piece. I love bringing new experiences to people :)

Of course, being a pianist I can\'t avoid playing some more classic pieces. Right now I\'ve got zero under works thanks to the plethora of game music sheets taking all the space in my room/our house. My classic list includes :

  • The Flight of the Bumblebee (or whatever the english title is... I love this piece)
  • The Turkish March
  • Sonata Pathetique
  • Moonlight Sonata
  • The... err, Saberdance? (whatever the english title is... again)
  • Air

And so on... :)

I love Uematsu\'s work too. It is clear from his work that he has extensive understanding of composition. It wasn\'t clear from the interviews of him that I read, what his musical formation was. Regardless, he is a musical buff in his own regard.

That\'s terrific! Perhaps it can be explained by your enthusiasm on game music - did you put more of yourself into that music than Bach and Beethoven?

Do you play the Moonlight Sonata\'s 3rd movement at performance speed? If so, you\'re a new hero of mine!

The piano is my 2nd favorite instrument.
Cello is in 3rd.

You can record into WAV format anything that your sound card is emitting.

Have you heard any of the orgas... er, I mean orchestral FF albums and others with arrangements? Final Fantasy : Symphonic Suite? Pray? Love Will Grow? Eternal Legends of the Wind? I couldn\'t live without these. I hate almost all (about 99.99999%) of the mainstrem crap that\'s coming out from all sides nowadays, and I\'ve found my own little dreamland within the fabulous world of game music. I\'ve also given two lectures on the subject in school. Voluntarily. Got some people excited there too. Though the BackStreet Boys- and fans of other popular groups didn\'t look too impressed. I feel sorry for them. I guess it\'s just the image that matters, not the music.

Final Fantasy : Symphonic Suite is the single most beautiful, heart-stopping, exstatic album I\'ve ever laid my paws on. If you haven\'t heard it yet, you haven\'t lived. I\'m hoping there\'s another SS coming up. It\'s been over 11 years since the original came out.

Uematsu\'s solo album, Phantasmagoria was an interesting one too. Weird, eerily beautiful and enchanting...

*wears a cape sporting a huge H and flies off*

Any speed, anytime, with my other hand tied behind my back. Well... maybe not. But I could easily about 2 times faster. I really have a problem with playing too fast. It\'s not a problem with pieces like the Flight of the Bumblebee or the Saber dance and the kind, since they\'re almost better at insane speeds. It\'s murder for my hands (as is playing Battle with Gilgamesh, whuh, reminds me of the Bumblebee), but I love it! Love it! I\'ve learnt to control my speed better nowadays, thank god. I would\'ve ended up performing a One-Minute Sonata at that rate :p

I haven\'t played Moonlight Sonata in ages... I don\'t know if I remember it anymore. Gotta go refresh some old faves :)

I play drums in a straight up hard rock band.

I also produce some funky kinda music. kinda comparable to Daft Punk meets Fatboy Slim. Lotsa jazz samples and funky bass lines.

That\'s what good about the guitar - you don\'t need to thoroughly suck for 5-7 years before starting to display traces of decency to unitiated listeners.

as for other music, I can do mondschein sonata also (did you recognise it in resident evil !? It\'s the song you need to play to open a door)
also I can do rondo a la turka(very fast piece of play)

I piece together my own music in my own makeshift studio...I got turntables, analog sampler, keyboard all hooked into my comp for mixing and mastering.  I have tons of vinyl of every style imaginable...my what you can find at flea markets:D I\'m also just starting to jam with some friends in their band as a DJ.

I play drums in a metal band.(I´ll post the link when we are finally online.)
Only own stuff  - But we did `The Four Horsemen` back in our wild days( last year we had our 10th anni).
I´m pretty happy with the style we play (well about 60% of the songs were made by me  ),so I don`t have to play what I don`t like :D
