Nothing discussed on interent forums will have any effect on the final outcome of Xbox PS2, or GC or even the DC

I say 95% of console buyers never visit a game forum

so your worries IMO are completely unwarranted.

the opinions stated here are opinions, alot of them I agree with.

If Xbox is going to try and make a name for itself with PS2 re-hashes its over for Xbox. MS has to provide the world with its own exclusive content and nothing said in this thread changes that.

There have been little if any exclusive games announced for Xbox from the Japanese.

I personnally loathe the thought of Xbox having PS2 games cause I obviously have no use for an Xbox then. Since I have n0 intention of buying a Gamecube I\'m pulling for MS to create more original titles that seperates itself from the PS2 in alota ways.

Also the name calling started well after your original post on this thread, and was quite mellow.

Ethugg there are lots and lots of MS Xbox haters out there and this is something MS has to eliminate. Goto DR or IGN web forums and you will see how large the MS Xbox hate goes.  There is nothing you can do to eliminate it, MS and Xbox have to win that respect the hard way

no tekken is not owned by sony, tekken is laso going ot GBA and very possible gamecube, but i don\'t think namco will ditch the ps2 look at the amount of games they have in planning for  the system

That\'s the problem

anytime a 3rd party announces support of competing consoles everyone who is non PS2 or PS2 paranoid starts screaming "Developers are leaving"

We see this with Capcom, Konami and will probably see it with Namco as well

They\'ll produce some of there popular stuff and a original or 3 on other consoles but always announce more games for the PS2

this may change in a few years but obviously most 3rd parties are concentrating hard on the PS2

Maybe I overreacted ddaryl, but name all the PS2 \'rehashes\'. Most games I see on both systems (like a lot of Konami games) arent ports, theyre announced around the same time, and could be released the same time. Silent Hill 2 (just a example) was NEVER a \'PS2 only\' game, and will likely be released on both systems around the same time. That means its not a port. While there arent a lot of exclusives (yet announced) there arent as many \'PS2 ports\' as everyone acts like. And IMO Munch and Malice are worth the price of admission alone.

Malice looks so good!!  I am thinking about getting an Xbox for that game alone.  I also like that new MMORPG that got in developement, Fate.

I hope Microsoft does get some exclusives and some more japanesse support.  Right now, things don\'t look so good.  They need a really good RPG to impress Japan.  Or just an announcement that Square is involved in Xbox.  That would sell systems alone.

I wouldn\'t buy any system for a pair of games. I want long term guarentee\'s. No video game in the world is worth a $300 system investment

Munch\'s and Malice and Halo are great but its no where near enough to persuade the majority.

As for PS2 re-hashes, XBox fans everywhere do cartwheels at any mention of PS2 games coming to the Xbox. Then they get all pissed off when they find out its not what they expected. Also its Silent Hill X not Silent Hill 2 unless I missed a press conference just like MGSX

If Xbox is going to survive they need to show off at least 20+ games all original that look visibly better then anything on the PS2 to even survive. If there going to survive in Japan they better start showing off some Japanese developed original content with the same obvious visible improvements or its over for Xbox.

I\'m interested in Xbox but so far they haven\'t shown me enough YET to warrant a purchase. Gamestock is later this week, and TGS and E3 are close if MS comes up short here it won\'t look good

are u totally stupid. My post was PURE opinion. Not fact. I posted it as opinion. Do u have a problem understanding the english language.
Here let me BREAK it up so even someone like u can understand it.

I donno.. Namco were developing for sega and we didn\'t see tekken. I don\'t think tekken will end up on xbox.

I didn\'t say it WON\'T end up on xbox. I said I don\'t THINK it will. My OWN opinion.

Quote

Namco will properly develop for xbox. We will properly see SC2 on xbox. But i really don\'t see namco putting tekken, (Which i thought was exclusive to sony) on xbox. I may be wrong.

Now read the the letters in bold....
I = me..
I thought = Not sure. OR past tense, Used to be. But I used to think they were.

Are u starting to understand this.. All i was saying. Is that NAMCO developed for SEGA, and we didn\'t see any tekken games on DC.
So to say they are or ARE NOT going to make tekken on xbox right now is just speculation.

Also, I will be getting xbox in a few years. About 1 year after it\'s release. Call me a fanboy all u want. I will have DC, PS2 and Xbox.. Hmmm :D

At this point pre-PS2 launch, PS2 didn\'t have 20+ exclusives that looked better than DC games, in fact, they still don\'t.

And it\'s well worth $300 for even a handful of good games, ****, Spiderman on 32X alone just went for more than that on Ebay...

No one here knows what SHX or MGSX is, and thats why Im waiting to see. But even if they arent the \'2\'s redone, they\'ll likely look better and play as good as the PS2 games. I\'d rather spent my $50 on the best game...

Soulgrind: We talked on ICQ, but just so everone knows, I apologized, I did overreact.

I was very defensive because 1-XB bashing is just so common despite that half the criticizm is speculation based, 2-It was late, and I was a bit tired and irritable and 3- I just got off ICQ from some ppl were I had to defend XB against some stupid arguments. No they dont excuse what I said, but I meant to be mean to faston, and Soulgrind accepted my apology.

Well Ethugg

I wouldn\'t pick up a game for Xbox a year later that supposedly "looks"  better. Thats ludicrous.

You are wrong the PS2 did have 20 exclusives at launch. Graphically they didn\'t look  better or much better then the DC, but Sony and the PS2 is way different then Xbox cause you know what was coming on the PS2. With Xbox its a giant ??????? and  until there are 20 eclusives announced for the machine that look considerably better then PS2 offering (they don\'t all have to be launch titles) I will hold off on  Xbox

Heck if I don\'t get an Xbox I won\'t miss a  thing simply because there are so many awesome games coming out on the PS2 this year into next

The only way I will even consider picking up an Xbox is if they have lots of exclusives, even if I own an Xbox and a PS2, I would play any game that was released on both the PS2 and Xbox on the PS2.

But thats because I rather see Sony succeed over MS for a ton of personal reasons.

IMO Xbox needs to be differet then GC and PS2, needs to be graphically better then top PS2 and  GC games , and has to get exclusive games that I cannot get on the PS2 for me to consider dropping my hard earned cash on an Xbox

I would never in my entire life spenfd $300 to play 2 or 4 games, I don\'t care how good people say they are I have a family and a ton of financial responsibility so if I spend money on a 2nd console it better be VERY  woth it, and 3-4 games doesn\'t come close

ALso people who overbid on Ebat are morons, so that analogy was no good

Well, yes, but now it seems that they\'re more serious about being multi-platform.

IGN Cube article:

"Namco Japan reported today that it expects a loss of more than $55 million for this quarter. The company attributes the massive dip to poor sales of its PlayStation 2 products for the year. Namco believes the slow sales can be blamed on Sony\'s failure to deliver enough PlayStation 2 consoles in Japan, as it had promised.

The most interesting bit of news from Namco\'s financial statement, however, comes with the official confirmation from the company that it plans to throw its support behind Nintendo\'s next-generation GameCube console. No details were given about what software to expect, but IGNcube has been able to confirm through sources that at least two titles are in development -- versions of Ridge Racer V and Tekken Tag Tournament. No word on if these titles will be enhanced over their PlayStation 2 counterparts. Both games are expected at system launch in Japan.

Interestingly, Namco made no mention of Microsoft\'s Xbox in its official financial statement.

More as it becomes available."

http://cube.ign.com/news/31962.html

I\'m not sure about what things the Xbox will get. The DC... I don\'t think it was the best example of Namco support. :)

1-I thought we were only counting *good* exclusives. If we count any exclusives, check the list of over 100 titles announced for XB so far, at least 20 are exclusive to XB... on consoles anyways....

2-Games a year later? SHX, MGSX etc have no release date yet. They could be released around the same time, and if you\'d rather buy a inferior version, well, thats your choice...

3-Im only 20 and I own a nice house. I\'m well aware of financial responsability.

I won\'t argue about Ebay overbidders, but if MS has nothing great by E3, then worry.  At this point they already got a handful of great exclusives, the financial backing of a extremely rich company, according to Next Gen, EGM etc a dedicated bunch of ppl working behind every aspect of XB, the easiest console development, and a lot of potential. I\'d say unless they screw up at E3 reeeeaaal bad, that they deserve a chance, and their product will be worth the cash.
