I found this on Slashdot.Sounds cool,dunno if it\'s true I can\'t read the article it\'s in japanese

Well I don\'t like windows either, but at the time I had no choice.  To tell you the truth it\'s probably one of the worst OS\'s out there, honestly.  Why does everyone have it you ask?  Becuase, like I said at the time I had no choice, and EVERYONE makes software for windows 98 because of it.  It\'s not that I don\'t like Linux or any other OS\'s, but they are very limited and software, so many kids must use Windows by default.  What can I say, an OS is an OS... Microsoft just took out the option of having an option.

There were rumours floating about the BeOS community that Sony might pickup on their Operating system when pics were leaked from a webcam showing a room full of monitors displaying the login prompt from some Sony owned building. Also Sonys choice to use BeIA (a cut down version made for Internet Applications) for the eVilla would seem to lend itself to this theory, but as it is its all speculation. As for seeing Linux on the PS2 Im intrigued, Id love to see a PS2 (EE,GS expanded on perhaps but the in the same type of architecture) based desktop machine, would be a great video/media tool for messing about with at the least - who knows.

It wouldn\'t suprise me and when the HD comes out, this sort of thing will happen more offen. But, yeah OpenBSD was ported to the DC (which, in my humble opinion kicks Linux\'s ass security wise).

As for Windoze/Wintel/Windows. Well, it is the most popular OS because of OEM deals. MS was smart buisness wise and while the 9x kernel is not that good, they did know how to get a huge market share. The 2K kernel isn\'t that bad really. Still, there are alot better options out there. I\'d like to say Mac OS X, but in its release version, which lacks DVD playback and DVD-R authoring, not to mention quite a few bugs, I can\'t recommend it. It is sad that Apple decided to release a re-vision of it called "Puma" over the summer, instead of implementing these daily functions from the start. But, if the Mac OS doesn\'t do it for you, there is plenty of Unix clones, including Linux.

I would love to play around with linux on my PSx2 that would be fun.  They have ported linux over to so many other things its pretty funny.

Well Living in Clip OpenBSD is the most secure OS that exists (right now anyway).
And Sony did pick up on BeOS Sony\'s eVilla uses BeIA,see here.

Yeah it is. I think they had what? One default security violation? Meaning, so far it has only had one time when it had a security problem right out of the box?

I\'ve probably messed that whole sentence up. But haven\'t slept much, so I don\'t care.
