Questions of a life-time ( a thinking man\'s thread )
« on: March 10, 2001, 06:49:06 AM »
I\'ve been thinking about life and all the mysteriousness around it for some time now with one friend of mine. It is very fun, but can sunk you deep; and sometimes you need the help of others to get out of the swamp before you go crazy.

But I\'ve found something interesting from the deep corners of my mind.

Space can be compared to numbers, as both are limitless.

Take number one. There\'s an endless amount of numbers between number 1 and 2. And there\'s endless amount of numbers between 1 and 0. But still we see them side by side. We can actually see endless amount of small universes in numbers. If the distance between 1 and 2 is endless, what is the distance between 1 and 10? If you can answer, I say you\'re God.

The old classic question is: "What really is life? Why is life? If there isn\'t anything after death, what is this life for? If there is something after death, what it is? How can space be endless? How can everything build up from something?"

Answer even one question and you\'re God and I will leave my religious side and follow you. But don\'t think too deep.. as you may never find a way out...

The distance between earth and moon is countable. But how can you count the distance between 1 and 2? What if space is compared to a number, and there\'s endless amount of paraller universes?

The more I think of it, the more I find it possible... God I even scare myself...

our existance on earth was an accident, there are many theorys we were pond sludge, we came from mars "if you havent heard this one its a true theory" we were space particles that rode an asteroid that hit the earth, they found that asteroid in the north pole, and they found the sace particles in the meteor, anyways, the earth has been here for 56 Billion years, thats a F@cking long time, now how long has the human race been on earth, think about it, we have been here for about hmm what was it, 10,000 thousand years or something, anyways if im wrong,i know for a fact we haven\'t been here for at least 100,000 years, now there are 100 100,000 in a million, there are 100 million in a billion, and we have been here less than 100,000 years...

can you figure that out... we have been on this earth for less than 1%.. thats right 1% of this planets existance..
we are still brand new people, we fell like weve been here for so long, but were havent, i love this stuff and i try to read so much about it, we have yet to start understanding the nature life, we only use 10% of our brain capacity, einstein used about 14% of his, he had a theory that if you were to use 100% of your brains power, you can become anything you imagined, think about that, peple that have telecanesis, and talk tot he dead, use about 17% of thier brain, we are still newborn babies, we arent anything compared to what we will be 20,000 years from now. if our race lives that long, wich i doubt, its in our nature to destroy ourselves, we will fiish ourselfs off before a natural disaster does the job. watch... and believe what i have told you, if you dont thats fine with me, but i swear to god that its ture.
\"So are you going to kill her off?\"
Are you insane! I love her character, she stays.
\"The only thing loves done is put you in this position, I say kill her off!\"
Yeah, but you say a lot of things..
and how does that work....  You\'re a bicycle..

Modern theories regarding the speculated age of the universe is somewhere between 12 and 20 billion years. Not to detract from the point that you are trying to make, but 56 billion is just a little out of that range.
It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

There is no meaning 2 life. Do u think there is a meaning 2 a cats life? Because of our intelligence we look for answers 2 things, even if there is no answer. Why do u think people believe in God. Because we want an answer 2 how everything we see can exist. Of course there is no God. Think about it. If God created everything we know exists then who created God? How can any thing have always existed. Space is endless. We are nothing but 6 billion little beings on a giant rock orbiting a huge ball a fire. Even if the human race doesn\'t die out we will never ever see all of space. What exactly the universe was before the big bang will never be known. If there is Heaven then its probably a parallel universe. Think about it. When a star dies it tears a hole in space. What if when a human dies it has the same effect. What if the force of are death rips a hole 2 another world were are soul or life force can continue 2 exist. That would explain the tunnel of bright white light people say they see before they die. If you have a bad soul it rips a gate way 2 a universe of pure terror and pain. This is my theory on heaven and hell. I have lots more theories on this kind of stuff but my hand is killing me so I\'m going 2 stop now.

About born of human-race.. accident or not? Well, if we happened to fate such an accident, there HAS to be at least ONE accident similar to this in the endless space of ours. Or then the subject goes into paraller universes, wich I think exists, due to my mathematical theory.

g0d is the whole existence. The numbers of endless existence is g0d. Devil is just a pitiful rebellionist. ;)

Black Holes are the holes in this universe. They\'re very rare, but some scientist accuse they\'re gateways to different form of universes. Maybe we will sometime find it out, but maybe we won\'t. Foretelling isn\'t a subject in this thread.

If we\'d use 100 prosent of our brain-capasity, I think we could see the layers of the paraller universes within ours here. We could be what we want, as we would see so much MORE. We wouldn\'t see the world as 3-dimensional anymore.

After we die, we settle to some layer of universe as endless beings, as we finally understand the meanings of our base existence. That\'s why some people can see "dead" people. They live amongst us. Some, who are really scared of death, may slip into a wrong layer by some accident, and are afraid and alone. g0d is just everything; it isn\'t a being.

But how did the big bang start? What was the ignition? How could a phomenon of such, wich changed the future of everything; made us alive and so on. How did universe born? There WAS something before the Big Bang. Where from did this ALL begin? IF there was only darkness before the big bang, where from did the darkness begin? Was there life before big bang?

This all couldn\'t born out of just an accident. Universe is endless, and has always BEEN. How could it not have?

very interesting thread

a few other questions

when does the universe stop? or is it endless?

which came first the chicken or the egg??

some really painfull questions to think about, yet intersting
Do you believe in a god that statisfies
Do you believe in a god that opens eyes?
Do you believe in a god that tells you lies?
Or do you believe in me??

My thoughts....
« Reply #7 on: March 11, 2001, 05:17:15 AM »
Life is a cycle. Nothing more. People would have you think there is a grand plan and that life is complicated, when its not. In alot of manners we are just giant ants. Think about it, we get up, we eat, we shower, we go to work and slave for a goverment, come home, do something to our entertain ourselfs, go to bed and repeat the next day. The only actual purpose is to make babies --and I don\'t mind that perverted. I mean that in a sense, our only true purpose is to have intercourse and keep the human race going on, until something kills it off. Not very complicated is it? Nope. But, if you think its complicated, it gives life this sense of purpose. Once you realize that life is simple and repetitive it no longer seems to have an actual purpose.

What happens when you die? Who knows. Some say there is a God and heaven, and you go there or go to Hell depending on your actions. I don\'t believe this. We are just more evoled animals, so do animals go to heaven? And why would we as a culture believe we have the true religion or God(s)? The Romans, Greeks and other cultures all had their own belief system and own God(s). It would be extremely naive of us to believe that we found the one true God(s) to worship. Wouldn\'t it? Or maybe when we die, that is all. We cease to exist and nothing more. Maybe there was nothing after it. If not, you won\'t be very dissapointed now will you?;) Or maybe we are like a butterfly and have  phases. Maybe what we consider "death" is just a change over to another parrel universe that intertwines with this one (ala Ghosts or spirit beings). I am open to any theory other then Heaven and Hell, as I find no compelling reason to believe in such "stories".

If we used 100 percent of our brain it is untelling what we could do. We could finally find a way to travel all through space and what not. Maybe we would be telepathic, who knows? Maybe we\'ll see one day, though I doubt we do in our life time. With clone research going higher and higher, and some countries even predicting to see the first clone within the next 5 years, it is possible for scientist to make a clone extremely intelligent. Is that a good thing though? Who knows, but did you know that most serial killers have an above average IQ? Maybe man, in his current form cannot handle his full "talent". What is the chance of increased violence? And why do we really need clones? Do you want a clone of yourself? I don\'t. But, the goverment could make massive clones of one "person" and use it for the army, that way there is no "loss" to the country. But is this right? If someone is cloned, and the clone has emotions, which it would, are they a human? Or just a copy of a human? Is it okay to kill a clone or send a clone out into battle?

Another interesting if not disturbing point is, once you die no one cares. Well, sort of. Look at it like this, once you die and the people who knew you directly die, you are forgotten. Sure, your great-grandchildren may hear stories of you, but they won\'t know or your even tell their kids of you more and likely, so you are forever forgotten. It is like you never even existed. The only way you can be remembered forever is if you do something drastic. Something that makes it into the history books. Otherwise, your life, in 200 hundreds from now or even 150 will have been pointless. This is a sad but true fact. In todays age, we look at our cultural heritage or what not and think of the great people who changed it. But, we only see the famous ones. We don\'t see or read about the smaller guys who risked their lives for the country or some grand idea. They are simply forgotten, even though they was equally as important.

God..I see God as a few things. One, he/she/it is something for people to latch onto. People with questions and need the idea that there is some great scheme of things. It gives them that. Some people need it. I also see God has a manifesto of human urges. What I mean by this is, if you take God and his "premise" it is nothing more then a powerful human. One who can create and destroy at will. God was pissed off and created a flood--something a human would do. God and the Devil had a bet about swaying Job\'s faith, and God let the Devil killed Job\'s wife, children, livestock and even strike Job with horrible boils, just to prove a point--the egotistical side of God. Are humans egotistical? Very. The bible has a simple moral outline to it also. Don\'t kill, steal, lie, and what not. The basic ideas, that we as humans should already know. It seems to be nothing more then a book to give general direction. And if God is perfection, and he spoke to imperfect humans to write it--how do we know they wrote it right? And do we think that if the bible is really the words of God, how could we understand it?  He would be beyond our understanding. And all of the bible, including the foretelling of the future is left up to interpations. It is never direct, instead it is vague and lets you interpet it in any way you wish. Which means, it could all get strung out of context extremely quickly. And if Judas was predicted to betray Christ, was Judas really guilty of anything? God has preset his destiny even before he ever existed. He was created to basically destroy Christ, for Christ could wipe the world clean of its sins. So, what was Judas really guilty of? Nothing. All he did was play out the part God had predicted long before he even knew Christ. Or even existed. And if there is a Heaven does it really matter if you pray? I mean, convicted serial killers pray all the time before they get executed, and it is said they go to heaven. So, in retrospect, that means they can kill all they want as long as they repent before their death. Seems unfair, to me. There is alot of "gape holes" in the bible that baffles me. Like God having all the first born children killed by an Angel? Why? What was the grand scheme behind killing innocent babies? Other then God wanted to show his power. And if God is so powerful, why couldn\'t he find a non-violent way to show his power? See\'ing that he made the rule man should never kill.

In short, it is extremely disturbing to think for a second, that once you die there is nothing else. All the pain you went through was for nothing. All the great memories of your first kiss, your children, your parents is gone. It never really mattered. And that in all reality, life was simple. You maybe had a kid, worked and helped the goverment via taxes or whatever, and that was the only purpose. You done that, you died and you was forgotten.

Wow..not bad Joyda, your relativity theory make sense. As for the distance between 1 and 2,you will probably learned it in high school...there\'s a topic called "Limits" which describes the distance between numbers.

Living-in-Clip: I must bow down before you for your very long and even wiser than seems; if you get my point here ;)

You have very good points, and those points you represented, are same wich disturb me as well; as a christian, and a believer. I take Bible as a way of life, as a guide trough life. I don\'t believe in it straightforward; of course I have my own disbeliefs and doubts. Just like that Judas-point you made. I tried to ask this when I was in Israel, when suddenly the question popped into my head.

"Wait, grandmother [ she is a deep believer ], I have a question. [ I was testing if it is even possible to answer this question ] In Bible, Judas was represented as a traitor; but still God knew what Judas was about to do, and still didn\'t stop him. If it was God\'s plan, then why is Judas being accused of betraying Jesus?"

I waited, and this question did disturb my grandmother a lot. She just replied:

"I think you should ask that question from a priest. I\'m not wise enough to answer. But dear Jose, have a childs faith. God is a complex being. You can\'t understand Its whats or whereabouts. And you will never understand."

I got the idea, from the way she answered, that she was thinking devil possessed me to ask that question. But it IS a large hole, if we think the bible from our points-of-views as humans, and we include the logic into it. It was so easy to believe everything as a kid. But when we grow up, we start ask questions, and it drives many out of faith.

---

Ah, I will check that "Limits" thread; but I got an explanation from elsewhere as well. There is a point when 1 turns to 2, but it\'s quite impossible to think where is the point. You could count up endless amounts of numbers; go on. Start now, and if you get to the point when 1 turns to 2 in this lifetime, you\'re someone very special ;)

Actually, I can\'t think that theory from a simple point of view. I just CAN\'T.

Life might be a circle as well, but I can\'t think of life as simple thing either. Maybe we just born and born again, in a forever cycle, until we are destroyed. Who really knows? But that didn\'t reduce my fear towards death, L-I-C, as I now wonder even more, and doubt likewise... I will surely lose my night of sleep now ;)

But is space limitless? It has to be. It would be stupid if it would end somewhere, and if there\'d suddenly be a wall before us. Then we\'d just wonder what\'s behind that wall, as there has to be something...

You know, if I wonder just one second more, my brain will explode and I can not write here anymore... or maybe I can. As an another form of existence perhaps :)

I believe the basic idea and form of the bible is a great thing; it gives people something to believe in and what not. But I also believe it has very bad flaws in it, that makes it extremely hard to believe in.

And if we are simply reborn, does it really matter if we die? I mean, we don\'t remember our previous life, so it would be like we never existed anyways. Not to mention, there would be new situations to encounter that could shape us. So, in essence, we would be a completely different "spirit" or person. So really, our previous life never mattered and we wouldn\'t be related to it in anyway. If that makes sense.
