"BTW, did you guys see when they showed Saddam on the news shooting a shotgun from his house? I guess he thought he was going to hit America from there." - EmporerBob
Are you sure that wasn\'t a Scud missle??
"And it is NOT a state run by a pardon-happy, infedilitous bastard like Bill Clinton." -EmpBob
Ok, first of all.. every president pardons people when they leave. It\'s a tradition. While I can\'t say I\'m expecially happy with the people Clinton chose, it\'s not like he pardoned Nixon and Spiro Agnue like some REPUBLICAN President did. Oh but that\'s right, he "wasn\'t a crook". LOL!
Let\'s not forget all the lies George Bush\'s daddy told, not to mention all the bull**** coverups of the Regan administration. *Cough* *Noriega* *Iran-Contra scandal* *Cough*
Sure Clinton took some money and did a few political favors for other countries.. it\'s not like he was SELLING GUNS TO HOSTILE 3RD WORLD COUNTRIES! Regan was doing this was even before he started trading even more guns to gurrellias for hostages and then turning around and telling the public he "Would not negotiate with terrorists".
Maybe he couldn\'t keep his pecker in his pants.. big deal. So he\'s a son of a ***** in his personal life.. at least he had the common sence to listen to Greenspan and support the labor community (The backbone of America I might add) which ended up helping us to ensure our place as the #1 superpower in the world with the greatest economic boom in American history. Even accomplishing what was thought to be impossible 9 years ago... starting to pay back the National deficit. That was a nice change of pace from "Reganomics" and the bull**** "Trickle Down" economics which helped TRIPLE our national debt from 1 trillion to over 4 trillion dollars in just 10 years.
And it\'s not like Clinton ever stepped in to force the breakup up of a strike by firing all the workers on the picketline, unlike some has-been actor who was merely a meat-puppet president for the GOP... just like his successor.. and his successors son. That strike should have been handled between American Airlines and their workers, noone else.
And don\'t give me **** about union members being lazy. Some are yes, but those are just people will be lazy under ANY circumstances.. (Who coincidentally are the same people who ***** about paying union dues but never lift a finger to help get involved with their local). A good percentage of them truly want to help the workplace and make it a better, safer, and more productive place. I mean, do you really think those airline workers WANTED to be on strike? Getting 1/2 of their normal pay out of a constantly dwindling strike fund? Did they enjoy worrying about their families having no insurance? Spending time away from their families to march in the bitter cold outside their workplace for 12 to 18 hours at a time? They did that because they were lazy? Nope, sorry I don\'t buy it. I\'ve seen too much **** at Nike, Hormel, Catapillar, and Dana to think these people are just looking for an easy break. Not to mention having worked in ****hole meat processing plant where they couldn\'t even go a month between major accidents where someone was seriously injured. But guess what, there was no union so there was noone to look out for the employee\'s saftey. Well, there is OSHA, but their inspectors were on the payroll (Along with the USDA I might add). But regardless of that, Regan had NO right to step in and break a contract forged between American Airlines and it\'s employees.
So please, don\'t demonize Clinton when he hasn\'t done anything that makes him worse than any of our other presidents.. expecially the recent Republican presidents. Besides, think about this.. Most of Clinton\'s lies revolve around things that didn\'t really have anything to do with being president. (Whitewater, Smoking Bud, Monica, Linda Tripp, ect..) But would he really have had to lie so much if the Republicans and their "Special" proscocuter Ken Starr hadn\'t spend over a billion dollars trash digging into Clinton\'s past for something, ANYTHING, they could use to get him out of office. You gotta admit one thing, Clinton was the most persecuted president of this century (Besides maybe Hoover).. and now that he\'s finally out and there\'s a Republican president in office.. the GOP want\'s to "Mend Wounds" and lay all the dirty buisness in the past.
Bull****. They\'re just as responsible for the degridation of respect for the Whitehouse as Clinton is.
Sorry for going off on a rant like this, but I can\'t stand people who talk trash about Clinton like he\'s the ONLY president to F\'ck up repeditidly in office. Hell Bush wasn\'t even offically president when he began stirring up scandles. (I.E. Stealing the presidency). Oh well, he\'s going to get shot anyhow.. and Cheney will most likely die of a heart attack in the next 1-3 years.
