"STOP...Don\'t...open...that door!"
"Hooo-what is it?"
"I hope this isn\'t Chris\'s blood!"
"Let ME handle this!"
The worst part about these games is that they are trying to fit English into characters speaking Japanese, but also their MANEURISMS are coincided with the Japanese words they are speaking.
Also, even though I can\'t understand the Japanese, I know for a fact its just higher quality.
For example:
The voice of the Ogre spirits sounded ageless in the Japanese version. The English version sure had an age, they sounded like a 16 year old who just smoked 5 packs of cigarettes!
Also, the mad doctor demon sounded creepy as all hell in the Japanese version, but, in the English version he almost sounded comic-reliefish. Especially when he calls on his "creations" to attack! "Reynaldo! Attack!!" Sounds so limp-wristed that you would expect "Reynaldo" to come at you wearing pink fatigues, a purple beret and that sparkle eye-liner trying to squirt perfume on ya!
And another thing, I don\'t know if anyone noticed this, but in the English version at the end, the narrator calls Samonosuke "Sam-oh-no-sookee" rather than "Sam-oh-nooskee" as it is really pronounced. He only does it once and it is right at the beginning of his little speech.
DAMN! They didn\'t even go back and retake that one!!
I realize that this isn\'t the narrator\'s or the actor\'s fault, it is all on the director of the piece. Its his job to make sure that all of the stuff comes together to fit into the story, to make it flow and sound right!
If I thought this after the first time playing through in the English-language version, why couldn\'t he?
I\'m not trying to flame anyone here, got too much respect for y\'all
just speakin\' out! That\'s all!
