OK, Turok sucked LOL :) i hope you didnt play that game too much ;). Also N64 only had one M rated title, that being the recent, and ok, title Conker\'s Bad Fur Day. Even that didnt really involve Mature subject matter, just goofy immature South Park-Esque humor, which is funny but is really still targeted at kids, especially looking at the game\'s simplisticness (is that a word?)
I said that i thought the GC would have some serious games, but I still do not believe that it can ever break the boundary / wall/ barrier of death / impregnable fortress of DOOM!!!!!!?!  that this kiddie image. I mean nearly ALL gamers believed the N64 to be a predominantly Kid oriented machine, so even if NIntendo tries hard to break that image, it is gonna be tricky tricky considering the fact that so many ppl believe it to be so. And what was up with that zany copy of my quote down there LOL OOPSIES!

Actually, I\'m not too worried about Nintendo and new products.  In an interview with Charles B. (SOA president), it was stated that he is very impressed with Nintendo.  He went on to say they have alot of fresh and original content on the way...and that\'s coming from the company that is the king of originality and innovation.

not worried...

1-Turok 1 rocked, the sequals did suck though...
2-Conker was NOT aimed at kids. And it may seem simplistic, but its not a easy game by any measure.
3-Mario and Zelda, etc, while appropriate for childeren, like Disneys animated movies, is fun and enjoyed by plenty adults too.

Nintendo have stated that they will stick with the younger demographic.  Smart move too, the "kiddie market" is humongous.

But they also have alot of Mature content, you can\'t deny that.  For every kiddie game you can name, I can name a mature one.

PS2 has the mature market targeted, Xbox is locking in on it.  What\'s left? Kids, and tons of them.  But there is also going to be something there for those peolple who just love Nintendo or weren\'t sold on the PS2 or XBox.

Actually, Turok is awesome. I even thought the second one was pretty good, too.

1) The N64 had a lot more rated M titles. Conkers, Perfect Dark, Doom, Quake 2, Turok series, etc....

Conker is not targeted at kids... its simple, but hilarious humor and movie knock-offs.

It is possible; its whether Nintendo decides to or not and the amount of 3rd parties that make games for it.

That was the N64; this is the GC--big difference... totally different system... made by the same company. Who knows how its going to turn out? But, by the beginning, seeing some of the games coming out for it, its looking good for everyone.

Oh yeah, and the quote.... I had to run somewhere so I just said "gotta run..." and had to submit it then.

Judging the quality of the PS2 by its sales is like saying Pokemon is a very high-quality game and pop/boy bands have talent.

My opinion is that even though gamecube (nintendo) is getting a little kiddish the graphics are outstanding so it is going to be a good buy if you buy it, then theres PS2, my opinion is its great but the graphics dont match the great graphics of gamecube and its expensive, wow it has a dvd thats good but this is gaming not movies, it will be a good buy nevertheless, then theres X-Box Piece of Sh** its microsofts first attempt t making a console, they are just making it for the money not for the gamers, ive seen the graphics and they are not as good as gamecube, they have no background for consoles, unlike sega, nintendo, and sony (a bit)

anyways there\'s my opinion (EVERYBODY PLEASE READ IT!!!)

There is only ONE way to sum up the debate in this thread:
"Like Houdini in a straight jacket, I get loose."
               -Funkmaster Flek

With that being said (for no other reason besides the fact that I think it is a cool line) I\'d like to turn your attention to excibit Q1, better known as SUCK IT F00LS!

Now, some of may be thinking, superl33t that is a bit outta hand, calm down a wee bit there. To you I say, NO! See, the reason I have found this new found [dont say found so much -ed.] arrogance, is because I have seen into the Future and it appears that Sony wins by a landslide in the forth quarter. So pack up your debates guys this one is OVER!

Wow, how much did Sony win by? Was it a slaughter? Did the Xbox get delaye to 2002?

I\'d like to see full-scale article on all your findings of the future of the video game industry, the sales of all the major console competitors, and the general direction the market has taken.

 :)

.... Anyways... That was an interesting way to end a debate.

Why would anyone make a weak port? Time constraints, being unfamiliar with a system. Sometimes it\'s different developers that posrt games over. There are a host of reasons.

I doubt that would happen, though, especially with the GC\'s supposedly easy-to-develop for system, and all of those tools that are out now to help developers port games to other systems.

 But... who knows?

I don\'t think it will happen, but like you said, who knows? Remember, the ps2 was supposed to be a developer\'s dream to program before because of all its resources, now look at it. We\'ll find out how easy it is soon enough.
