I can\'t wait for FFX and I can\'t believe that Square are developing 23 Games for PS2 and 0 for the X-Box :D

wow not only is Final Fantasy X coming out!

Final Fantasy II is making a comeback! (being that it was never released here in the US)

Great, square definatly has the best showing... aside from Konami... Konami is close...

Considering that at least 20 of those 23 games will be garbage, it\'s not very impressive. And if Square were going to announce XB support, it\'d be ay E3 more likely, since XB is geared towards the US. Not that it matters, MS doesnt need the 3 potentially good games Square is making.

I like your logic, really. It make so much sense.

Let\'s see.

FFX (has potential)
FFXI (hate the online crap) -not counted
FFXII (going back to roots like IX - awesome)
* Vagrant Story 2
* Final Fantasy Tactics 2
* New Chrono Cross
* Xenogears 2
* Einhander 2
* Parasite Eve 3

Those are 8 potentially great games.. I\'m not saying those games will be made, but there\'s a chance. To say 20 of 23 Square games will suck is ludicrous. I\'ll tell you 47 of 50 X-box games will be crappy unoriginal games. And good for you if you \'think\' X-box doesn\'t need Square\'s support. If the x-box has any chance of survival in Japan in needs all the support it can get.

I\'m curious thugman, what ps2 games do you own?

Ok, first, my logic is based on all the crappy jap square games that wont get released here, plus rereleases like FF2. Sorry, but rereleases dont count as good games, as theyre just rereleases. 3 of 4 of the games shown on the site fall into this category.

While those games you listed would rock, I doubt that more than 2 or 3 of those will be announced at the show, thus staying well within my approx. count of good and bad games.

N64, while not wildly successful in japan, has stood its ground there w/o enix or square. And MS certainly doesnt need em for the US or Euro markets.

I currently own:
Onimusha
Shadow of Destiny
Bouncer
Kengo
Oni
TTT
Armored Core 2
Time Splitters
Eternal Ring
Midnite Club
Smugglers Run
Evergrace
Orphen
Driving Emotion TS
SSX
RR5

Have owned or played:
Every other game except Fifa,  Fantavision (or whatever it is), and Aqua aqua, Madden.

Yeah right :rolleyes:

You seem to have stong opinions lately

I seriously doubt 20 outta 23 will be crap

and what thhe hell is wrong with a FF online, how can anyone say they hate it if they haven\'t even seen it or read a preview on it.

I agree with datamage about it. Online would ruin the FF experience IMO... not that i\'m crazy about the FF series as a whole anyways.

ddaryl, I\'m going by the games announced thus far, and Squares history. I think 75% of Squares games are crappy. Sorry, but that\'s my opinion.

Hey thug, you\'re entitled to your opinion, everyone is. Though I think it\'s a bit premature to say 20 of 23 Square games will suck. Granted not everything they make is phenomenal, but their games that are less than stellar are not piles of junk either. Average @ worst. Who knows what Square is up to these days aside from the usual FF.

I was under the impression that FF2 was for the wonderswan, or another system? If it\'s for the PS2, that\'s fine by me, I wouldn\'t mind playing it since I never have. (the real ff2 not ff2 here in the states which is ffiv)

lets see, remakes of FF 7,8,and 9 for PS2, FFX FFXI FFXII, probably 4-5 completely original titles like Vagrant story. 4-5 crappy experements like brave fencer musashi and Parasite eve.  4-5 crappy games from other other genres. And a few unexpected suprises.
Thats if they are all for PS2, but I have a feeling this is for PSX and Wonderswan to.  Then it would incude a helluva lot more ramakes.  I think you guys are being to harsh on square considering it\'s year 2000 lineup. Vagrant story, chrono chross, FFIX, legend of mana. They also had xenogears, sagafrontier 2, bushido blade, FF tactics , Tobal, and other FF\'s for psx.  Now name that many quality games form another company and I think you\'ll get stuck (Just the quality games not all the games).  I think the RPG market got over saturated after the succes of FF7 so people are sick of or take for granted quality rpgs.

Im trying my best not to get into the argument. I will say that Square has said that it is cunsumer intrest was taken in great consideration for future projects.

If only we are lucky enough to get FFT2...
XBox will rue the day they challenged the playstation 2 if it gets FFT2.
FFT was IMO the funnest,longest,best story driven most addicting, most innovative square RPG that came out for the PS and if they would come out with part 2 on either PS or PS2 I would be in gaming heaven.
I wish I could get my hands on a copy of FFT.

Uhhh, I doubt MS will \'rue\' the day it callenged the PS2 if PS2 gets a sequel to a moderatly successful niche game. FFT was good (if you dig the genre), but it\'s not a system seller.
