it looks cool but...I cant put my finger on it.
hmmm I dont know why but I dont think it will be very fun. Hmm maybe it\'s the ways the controls will be set up.
Well we\'ll see.

I\'ve played Commandos a bunch of times, it is VERY addicting.  I love this game, I hope it supports a mouse and kb though.

Those screens are beautiful. What a shame that you couldn\'t see the incredibly realistic animation of the water by screenshots.

Anyway, the best thing about this game is the gameplay and, for what i\'ve read, the people that played the PS2 version of the game said that the control is better in that version than in the PC one. Now you can control every character directly with your controller instead of with the mouse, and the abilty to enter into every structure( houses, submarines, prisons, all of them recreated in 3D so you can manipulate the camera) add tons of complexity to the game.
The missions and objectives are as well really varied, every character of your team is well differenced from the others( hmm, specially the bull terrier :p) and there\'re lots of posibilities to end the same level.

What can i say?. This game is really addicting.

go to IGN and read the preview:

I love those pics.
People say the PS2 is terrible for Textures, but the Textures in those pics are Phenomenol.
Im defiantly getting this game.
I had a thought today.
I think a lot of 1st generation games are getting delayed because as the developer gets to know the PS2, he realizes there are so many things he could do,that he didnt do at first, because it was hard to program for.
I hate to say this, but I think the fact that a lot of games are getting delayed, "to improve things", shows that far more can be done once you learn the architecture.

If you look at those screenshots, it is the same point and click controls as the original.  I don\'t think it would work right controlling the characters like that.

Actually if you goto gamespot and watch the GT3 Polyphony Interview they say this exactly. They keep finding new tricks and new ways to do things and they keep getting a green light to do them hence the delays.

Look at the AAA titles for the PS2 all of them look FANTASTIC. Look at Bladurs Gate, snowblind studios was a nobody but obviously they just have "The Knack"

MGS2 and its extreme attention to deatil, and will finnally see what FFX looks like this weekend

this is a game i\'m definitely getting...i\'m curious how this would work for two players (if it even is possible to have this feature?) ,since the action will be so busy and you\'ll see everything your oponent does on the split screen,as opposed to a single game version on the pc...

To ddaryl, who is unlucky enough to never have experienced the wonders of Commandos:

Let me tell you about this, already, a pc-classic, titled Commandos. It is the most addictive WWII strategy-game I\'ve ever played. And it is the hardest as well...

Yes, if the difficulty level in Commandos 2 is even near the Commandos, you\'re going to pull your hair out and your nose will start to bleed before you even notice it! It is that hard :)

I\'m really waiting forward to Commandos 2. whether I buy it for Pc or ps2, I\'m not aware wich version yet. It depends quite a lot of the gameplay - Commandos was designed for mouse, so I hope they\'ve found some new ways to operate the game on Commandos 2.

I recommend the first game to you, ddaryl, as you could buy it for a really low price somewhere to your computer - and it is worth it!

I have never played Commando\'s.
But I have played a game very much like it.
I just love WWII and I love any game dealing with it.
There is a definite lack of WWII fighter Plane games for consoles.
DC just got a game called I think Combat Aces, which looks very impressive for a "Dead Console".
I cant wait for Medal of Honor Front mission.I think thats what its called.

Ddaryl,
thats awesome.
I didnt read that article, so I feel really smart.
Haha.
Baldurs gate looks awesome.
Do you know if it will have different races to choose from with different character classes and subclasses, or are you going to get assigned a character.
I think if they assigned you one, if would kill half the fun of the game right there.

Darth Joyda

yeah sounds liek fun. I like strategy games

but I will wait for Commandos 2 and probably for the PS2 even. Just because I know I won\'t have time to play Commandos with my PS2 schedule so full.

Also I remember reading the article about the interface design for Commandos 2 for the PS2, and I remember them saying it was surprisingly good

so hope thats true,

May 1st is the scheduled release date

and so id Soul Reaver 2

Red Faction is scheduled for May 9

May is going to be busy

The rest of this year is going to be busy.
Though the PS2 left the gates slow,
It was just conserving itself.
Some many good games coming out this month.
Oh yeah, I have reliable information that APRIL is going to be the relaunch month.
Just today, circuit city got its new "SoundCheck", which tells us how to set stuff up and new promos, and they said april is being officially Dubbed Playstation2 month, and that CC is going to be getting much bigger shipments.
CC used to get ****ty shipments, and they were very speratic, so it seems like PS2s are going to be much more available in April.

erhm..this game doesnt use textures, this game is 2d, the backgrounds are pre-rendered. The characters and all the other stuff are also 2d sprites (but nicely animated) The games graphics might look good, but its the way this game plays which makes it a classic! ;)
