I think I\'m going to try to pick it up today when I get ZoE... going to sell Quake 3 for DC and DOA2 for DC...  I\'ll give some impressions if I get it.

Too bad that Q3R does\'nt have keyboard- and mouse-support, because without keyboard and mouse it will be very difficult to use the railgun for long-distance-attacks.

I played it. It\'s not better than TS. Not even better than Q3A on DC. IGN is nuts IMO.

It got a really good review in the offical PS2 mag this month,it got 9 out 10,and said it gives Timesplitters a good run for its money.
One more thing EThugg is there anything you like?i have never heard you be positive about anything!
On the 15 of March 2002, i was going to leave these forums for good.
But on the 16 of March i realised i couldn\'t ever say bye to you guys, so i am staying here for good!

Ethugg, care to elaborate on how it isn\'t better than the DC version a bit?  I have the DC version now but I don\'t have a kb or mouse and I hardly ever play online, for some reason I love playing against the bots...  Also, I really didn\'t like Timesplitters for some reason, but I did like Q3 for DC a lot.

[edit : also, I\'m just about to go out to the store and trade in my DC Q3 for it so reply soon :)  If not that\'s ok...]

Ethan:  I\'m positive plenty of times, but I\'m more vocal when I\'m pissed. ;)

Jigen: Well, if you prefer bots and the dual shock, you might like it better. The graphics aren\'t very different, and its mojor draw (online) was removed with new levels added. If that stuffs ok with you, then its basically which controller you like best, but I don\'t think trading in a online game with online capabilities for a gutted and altered version is worth it. And Quake\'s levels are IMO more drab and boring. TS had some interesting levels.

the game is optomized to run on a DS

A keyboard and mouse would\'ve made the game to easy according to Bullfrog.

Plus who has a desk in there living room ????????

Well, now I agree with Ethugg, picked it up, this is what I pasted on another forum, I\'ll just copy n paste...

Blargh! I picked up Q3R and ZoE today... ZoE is better than I expected, real nice... but Q3R... IMO isn\'t as fun as the DC version...

Here\'s a ultra quick rundown of my idea of the comparison between PS2 and DC versions

- DC version has keyboard & mouse support (I never used it though)
- DC version has limited online play
- DC version has slightly better control with the controller
- DC version has much better load time
- DC version has somewhat better image quality (better textures/light maps/ actual volumetric fog/ effects)
+ PS2 version has more modes of play
+ PS2 version has a neat campaign mode which allows for upgrading of characters
+ PS2 version has somewhat better framerate
+ PS2 version has more polygons / better curves (usually)
+ PS2 version allows for 2 more bots

... that\'s all I can think of right now, anyways if there\'s one thing you should know about me is I only keep the best of the best games... so Q3R\'s going back tomorrow... I usually sell the games, but I have a chance to get all my money back this time.

Some of the above things are just my opinion, but I just found the DC version somewhat more fun... I didn\'t like Timesplitters or UT either for some reason, oh well, guess I\'m waiting for Red Faction!

I\'m going to buy Quake III to ps2 next summer, as I love the serie, and I know I will love Quake III as well. I\'m waiting in anticipation to get to frag my friends in its multiplayer mode...

I don\'t care about the DC version, as it is un-available for me ( because I don\'t own a DC ); and I love the dual-shock to control First person Shooters. Maybe not as good as combination of mouse and keyboard, but I agree with ddaryl: the set-up wouldn\'t be possible in my room!

Q3 i had it for the dreamcast and loved it only because of the online play. Now i have the PS2 and since there is no online play i debating on whether or not to buy the game. I have TS and love it but i heard that Q3 has a good single player mode. That\'s what draws my attention. I really waiting for red faction and half-life also soldier of fortune.
