GT3 Delayed Again
« on: March 29, 2001, 07:16:29 PM »
GT3 has been delayed again until Winter in Japan, with it probably not coming out in the US until next year.  Go to http://www.dailyradar.com/news/game_news_7482.html to read the whole story.

Whoa, that came out of no where.  Man, this is really bad news.
It seems as if the people [casual gamers] that we consider to know absolutely nothing are the ones that actually know the most important thing: Name brands don\'t make the console, games do.

Maybe they are adding online play?  I thought they would have released it around the time of the Xbox launch to try and take away from it.

And I thought only europe got screwed.

This is getting really pathetic, but hey what can ya do :(
I met him 15 years ago, I was told there was nothing left, no reason, no concious, no understanding and even the most rudamentory sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong, I met this 6 year old child with this blang pale emotionless face and, the blackest eyes, the devils eyes, I spent 8 years trying to reach him, and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realised what was living behind that boys eyes was purly and simply evil.

This just stupid now. The last time it was delayed, I got pissed, but then I read something Soulgrind said about waiting for them to get it right.

That made sense to me so I swallowed my pride and said "ok,  take a few more months, I can deal"

But c\'mon dammit. If this is true it is ridiculous.

This is becoming quite ludicrous.
Its getting delayed as much as an N64 game.
Hopefully thats a conservative date and it gets released before that.

Looks like months more of replay screenshots from sony as well.

Hopefully Metal Gear 2 doesnt suffer the same fate..

I also remember MSR for DC which got delayed over and over and it didn\'t turn out that great.  At least LeMans 24 Hours is still on schedule for this summer.

This is positively insane! How can they possibly delay the game till winter? That\'s like 7-8 months! What in the world could they add to the game in that amount of time? Think about it it\'s like a whole extra development cycle!

Damn! This is really depressing. They allready said the game barely fit on the DVD so why try to put anything extra in it.

I am major pissed  :rpissed: and Sony better give me a damn good explanation for the delay. I want to hear that their adding at least 5 more tracks, or realtime weather in all the tracks (instead of just the one Rainy stage R5), I want new cars!

Yet I still don\'t feel any of this will justify the enormous delay. If this is just a tactic to compete with the X-Box launch then I really feel they are screwing us over.

Considering that GT3 is essentially finished, I\'m not going to believe DR until they provide a high level source for this bit of news. A delay to add content doesn\'t make sense, GT3 doesn\'t need anything more to sell well. The time is better spent working on online GT4 and Polyphony Digital\'s other non-racing side project.
