The DEFINITIVE Xbox Interview- New As Of April 3!!!
« on: April 03, 2001, 08:59:19 AM »
My favorite part:

CVG: Do you read a lot of these online sites daily, check out online forums and the like?

KEVIN: Sure.

SEAMUS: Absolutely.

CVG: Can you name some?

KEVIN: Like all of them. CVG Online, Daily Radar, IGN, Gamespot, Core Magazine, Gaming-Age, GIA. Why? Because these are our customers. This is what gamers read and we are gamers.

Smile, guys!! The head honchos are looking at us!!!

I really never played MGS because it\'s not my kind of game but I understand that it sells systems and helps the life of a console.  This is my favorite part of the interview!

Quote
KEVIN: Yes they are. Let me take this opportunity to correct one thing. You guys seemed confused about what Metal Gear Solid X is.

CVG: When I talked to KCEJ a month backā€¦

KEVIN: What did Kojima tell you?

CVG: He told me not to believe what Konami UK or USA had said, and that no announcement had been made by him even so the rest was speculation on their part.

KEVIN: Well we\'ve got permission from Konami to answer this for you. And let me say that Metal Gear Solid X will be beyond MGS2. We\'ll leave it at that. But we asked Konami to clear up that confusion, and they were like "why would anything think we were doing a port of a five year old game?"

I don\'t know about you but I think were looking at MGS 3 for Xbox!

But talks that MGS2 might be the last in the series have been around since after talks about MGSX.

It was also said long before after the older games, before the PSX MGS, and that came out, didn\'t it?

as far as I understood Kojima wants to do something different.

You have to believe Kojima has a whole new game swirling around in his head and doesn\'t want to be handcuffed to the MGS world right after MGS2 is completed.

We\'ll see, I wouldn\'t expect any firm comments regarding MGS on Xbox till after the PS2 version is out.

it seems that MGSX is not made by kojima, he said that he would quit the metal gear solid games after MGS2 and let a different MORE YOUNG...and MORE FRESH producer create the otehr games.

Who says Kojima has to do the game? It could be:
1-An enhanced version of MGS2, thus Kojima still being involved...
2-A new side story, w/o Kojima
3-A true sequel, but still w/o Kojima
4-MGS 1.5 (although this goes against the spirit of the above interviews statements.)

Kojima isn\'t  Suzuki or Miyamoto. I think they could continue a spy-thriller-action game w/o him.

Don\'t be rediculous, Kojima is the mastermind behind MGS world. MGS is not your typical spy-thriller-action game as you labeled it. The game is on its own level, a level created by Kojima, and unmatched. From what I\'ve played on the MGS2 demo I deem the game pure genius.

Sure MGS franchise coulds live on without Kojima, but the ambition and the creative genius Kojima brings will be missing.

what planet do you reside on Ethugg...oh man,i\'m losing any respect from you with that remark...i thought you were a little off basis in previous threads though i respected your opinion, but your a complete whacko if you believe this (hurry jump into a tub of hot boiling water and then cover yourself with ashes while asking gaming gods for forgiveness until your skin peels off :) )

Why? It\'s not the best fiction written around a spy/military theme... it\'s ok, but the interactivity and graphics are why MGS2 is hot, not because of the story. We\'ll see won\'t we....

Its not all about the storyline, which I disagree. The best probably not but a damn good storyline none the less. Actually really good

Its the extremly innovative gameplay elements and scenario\'s that all pretty much come out of Kojima\'s head.

maybe there will be a MGS3 without Kojima, but thats like seeing a classic rock band with one original member left

Well, we\'ll see, but I\'m looking foward to Crash 4 w/o Naughty Dog. Blood Omen 2 w/o Silicon Knights, etc. This is no different to me....
