Why did Sega make a 11 title commitment to Xbox and Peter Moore target Xbox as Sega\'s third-party impact maker when "Sony is in the driver\'s seat" and PS2 has the install base advantage over Xbox and Gamecube?

Following Nintendo\'s announcement to delay the GameCube until September 14th in Japan, president Hiroshi Yamauchi, when asked about Sega\'s development plans, said: "Sega really understands what Nintendo is about and where we\'re headed. We\'ve made progress in our relationship, and Sega plans to aggressively support GameCube and Game Boy Advance with their software..." Visual Concepts is rumored to be developing NFL 2K2, this game is likely to be ready for the US GameCube launch. Shen Mue 2 is also rumored to be coming to GameCube. Sega is expected to reveal its GameCube and Game Boy Advance plans at E3.

It looks like to me that Sega is not taking any chances and supporting all machines.

This morning, it was announced by Sega Ltd. COO, Satoshi Kayama, that Sega is currently working on a total of 118 games for a variety of platforms. For the Dreamcast, Sega has currently 65 titles in the works, and distributed among the PlayStation 2, Gamecube and Xbox, they have another 53. While Sega\'s E3 plans are not 100% solidified, they are planning on showing playable Xbox, Gamecube and PlayStation 2 titles according to the announcement. According to Kayama-san, the teams that created the hit Sonic the Hedgehog and Virtua Fighter series are working on GameCube games, and their titles will be announced next month. Wow!

I always said Sonic3 would most likely appear on GameCube and I was right! Maybe a VR4 port is in store too.

If the Xbox is only getting 11 Sega games then maybe GameCube and PS2 will get the majority of them! I imagine that Panzer Dragoon and Jet Set Radio2 will be on all the consoles, not just Xbox.

That\'s alot of games!!  Damn you Sega, I\'m going to have to get all the platforms if I want to be happy...

i have been thinking about getting a gamecube, if SEGA gives it a GOOD amount of support. You see money is not and issue for me when it comes to buying more than one platform, the problem is time. I have a life, or at least i\'m trying to have one, and if i get xbox, and GC, well then i guess there goes my free time.
