   The Playstation 2 has been out for a long time now and its failed to make any good impression at all.  Whoops.  If it wasn\'t for Japan picking up the PS2 as a DVD player, the PS2 would be a total flop.

   I don\'t know how much you all get out of the house and actually see whats going on, but the damn thing ain\'t sell\'n outside of Japan.  Japan clearly bought the PS2 as a DVD player ONLY, but then decided to buy a few games, thats why the software gaming market sucks for the PS2 over there.  Here, it sucks even worse because there arn\'t anyone buying PS2\'s here.  The DC by far made a bigger splash than the PS2 over in the States.

  PS2 is underpowered and overpriced, but hey, it plays DVD movies.... duh!!!!!!!!  Some of you folks really arn\'t that bright, but hey there are screwed up people out there with issues.  Glad I\'m not one of them.

Dwarrior, I have never been kown to patronise the PS2. I share some of your feelings of disapontment towards this much hyped console. But no where would you see me insist that the PS2 isn\'t selling outside of Japan. The current world wide userbase stands at a figure close to 10million.

Dispute that if you will, but remember you\'d have to explain the DC\'s demise while producing a legitimate arguement for your..... assertions.

Funny how thats the same damn thing all the PS2 fanboys said before the launch and Sony got their asses kicked by Sega.  Look at the grand scheme of things now.

1) DC is dead.
2) PS2 has a great user base.
3) PS2 software sales are picking up everywhere. (even before the great games)
4) Many are disappointed w/X-box.
5) Nintendo has yet to show off GC. (till E3)
6) Yamauchi said if GC does not impress it may not even see the light of day.
7) PS2 is showing much greater power now.
8) Who gives a sh!t what happens? Gamers will be enjoying whatever games on whichever system. Why does everyone have penis envy?


Funny things can happen that\'s for sure. But the PS2 has a commanding lead @ least. Everyone else has to play catch-up and hope the folks in Japan grab their system and games. This coming from a loyal DC fan btw.

I agree with 15% of what you say.  You know what everyone does have to play catch up to ps2, but I don\'t think it will be hard, because a lot of ppl are dissatified with ps2. I have about 20 ppl over my house playing games and none of them want a ps2 yet and mainly because they say they are not impressed with none of the games.  
 This week I have been playing n64 for some reason. 007 and winback have had me and all my friends stuck to the tv. And I don\'t how many your talking about that are not happy with xbox. But from what I see everyone is talking about it. and anticipating what it can do.  And I can\'t wait for some great multi-player games. But I think xbox will get a huge welcome in usa and europe pretty much every where outside of japan. And all they need is 35% of the japanese market to jump on.  Any way it goes I think xbox will kick ass. Because so far ps2 has not out done dreamcast. Too bad sega had a bad rep and many did not recieve them because they had the best sports and best line up of fighting games. And with games like pso,shenmue, jet grand radio and crazy taxi. dc kick ass.  As of rite now I think ps2 did not outshine dc, but dreamcast has been out longer and better games are coming out on ps2. So all in all I got dc and ps2 and I am getting xbox and later gcn.

I like Sony games.
I will buy DC when it\'s $50.  But I won\'t buy any Sonic or Nights b/c they are gay.

I hope you mean in the number of good games and not sales wise. Even though I think the DC has better games, it\'s still an opinion.

A lot of ppl are dissatisfied w/PS2? ~10 million people? Or do a couple of your friends make up the entire gaming population? You don\'t get it, the mainstream is what makes the PS2 rule, and what keeps putting life into the PS2. It doesn\'t matter if us technogeeks/hardcore/whateverthef\'ckyouwanttocallus/ think otherwise. Regardless, I don\'t give a sh~t. M$ comes and conquers all, so what? Nintendo dies, so what? Sony falls over, so what? I\'ve given up in taking part of everyone\'s crusade. Fighting meaningless wars about the disappointments in the vg world. Rambling about which console will rule. I remember SEGA fans wanting to kill themselves when SEGA went 3rd party and announced support for SONY. Get over it.

I\'m not in any way belittling the gaming world, I will admit that I can barely live w/o it. Though some people just take it a tad bit too seriously, and I\'ve learned to move on.

I kinda figured that\'s what you meant. And it makes complete sense. Things change, always. The only constant is change. If X-box turns out to be the god almighty console, then so be it. I\'ll be more than happy to get one.
