Well no official release dates yet but expect it to be sometime in 2001.

BTW Cable kicks DSL wimpy little @ss. The only type of DSL that beats cable is T3, and (mostly)only big companies can afford that.

Oh and its broadband, not broadban.

We shall find out at E3..

Hopefully they will do what sega did last year. Acutally demo the online play.
I met him 15 years ago, I was told there was nothing left, no reason, no concious, no understanding and even the most rudamentory sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong, I met this 6 year old child with this blang pale emotionless face and, the blackest eyes, the devils eyes, I spent 8 years trying to reach him, and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realised what was living behind that boys eyes was purly and simply evil.

I don\'t want to get into a Cable vs DSL war, but they are both great.  I have Cable at work and DSL at home and Cable does freaking fly.  Only problem is it bogs if you are in an area where there are lots of people.  DSL does not.  Both would kick ass though for PS2 action.

Bring it on biatch!!!

So true, that is why I would rather have DSL right now.

Anyway, I doubt Sony is going to sell a broadband modem.  There are just too many companies that require different modems for their service.  What I am guessing they will have is a hub for people to connect to, that you will most likely have to pay to get on to, and go from there to the game you want to play.

THey don\'t need anything for broadband.  Just a regular old Cat 5 network connection.  We can plug our DSL/Cable modems right into it.  No biggie.

Give me a network connection I say!!!

Oh, I know they\'ll have an ethernet adapter.  I was just thinking that to play games online you\'ll have to pay a monthly fee, like many PC games already do.

They couldn\'t make you pay. They would lose much more then they gained.

Which reminds me I hope PS2 Everquest isn\'t pay.

Then how is Sony going to make money with the online gaming?  Sega had seganet, what will Sony have?  They obviously can\'t have a broadband ISP, so that is why I figured they would make you pay to play online.

I misunderstood to some extent. They will charge for thier own but like Sega you will not have to use it to play the games. Hence you wont have to Specificly pay to play the games. Only to get online. But like most who have posted here I have cable already.

So Sony is going to have their own BB ISP?  That would be impossible, they would have to make a deal with every DSL and Cable company in the US to use the infrastructure they already have.
