well, after about a month of CONSTANT nagging both in person, and  on the internet, Bobs_Hardware finally convinced me to visit, and sign up at two sites on the 13th of september last year. Those forums, Psx2central, and ConsoleDome. I went to both, and signed up at both, however for some strange reason when I signed up here, I received an error, and my password was not mailed to me. I didn\'t know what happened, so i started posting at consoledome. Assuming I wasn\'t able to sign up here, I posted at Consoledome, and that was my home forum (until it died just a few days ago :( )

Well, a few months ago, after a bit more nagging, I decided to check if in fact I was signed up here. Turns out I was.... so I got my password mailed to me, but I was so late in coming here that I didn\'t really get used to the fast pace, and as such didn\'t post here full time, just a few here and there. In the middle, I signed up at ps2lair, which I also left a few months ago because my Uni work load was getting pretty big. It\'s all over now, and so is consoledome, so I\'ll be visiting these forums a fair bit now, to read and post, and I\'ll also go back to the lair.

Forum posting has been awesome for me, I\'ve met people from parts of the world I never thought I\'d meet people from, and they\'ve all been cool. I\'ve even met another bunch of awesome Aussies. I speak to them all on icq and it\'s to bob I owe this, so kudos goes to you bobbage.

That\'s all from me :)

I came to this site as Diamond Dallas Page and figured I would only post here a couple times to get my questions answered about my decision to get a PS2... I soon felt I related to a lot of the subjects... and felt a yearning to stick around... so one day in September, I decided to come back here... but I didn\'t like my name anymore, so I registered as Syxxkorn. I felt welcomed, with a lot of questions approximatly a month before PS2\'s release. Everybody helped me, and gradually developed a name for myslef... then came some of my darker days... I developed rivalries with fellow members, and people lost respect for me, and I became an enemy to some... so I ditched the site for a while... I couldn\'t resist coming back though... that\'s when my post craze took a sky high... I went around to sites get all the news I could on PS2 and people got angry... Things started cooling down... and my dark days were over... I calmed down, the rivalries were over, and I started gaining respect... when I hit 1000 I wanted to ditch the account, but instead just asked the administrator to change my name and pic... I started a new life here in December as "The One" Billy Gunn, with a new, more serious attitude. My posting became above average... then pushing the limit... then spamming... but it quickly calmed down after talks with the mods... People respected me, it felt good. I was a dedicated member, when I was at the top of my game when... the forums broke down... I checked here day in and day out... weeks passed... I gave up on the site... but then I came back and one day they were fixed... sorta... anyway, we had forums none the less... I am was well remembered, respected, and took pride in my post, and that\'s when I decicated my nights to PSX2Central forums... and here I am... a Staff Member... with a long history here (okay 6 months...) and things are great...

that was an excerpt from the book "The History Of my Life on the PSX2Central Forums", go to your local book store to purchase the full 512 page book, published by Random House...

I began posting at NintendoNation\'s forums in July; one of the first major topics I recall seeing was NPLAYER\'s topic: "PSX2Central the most biased site on the net!" That\'s how I got here. This isn\'t true today, and if I wasn\'t a thickheaded dolt at the time, I probably would have realized it then.

Isn\'t it amazng? NPLAYER was one major cause of this forum\'s acquiring a bad reputation for a long while, simply because he made topics like that on a multitude of messageboards. Pathetic dolt he was, and still is. ;)

I read about some forums in late Sep. early Oct., on another website, right before I got my PS2, and was a lurker here for about a month or so.  I finally registered when a topic caught my fancy and now, this is one of my fav. boards.

And yeah, I remember SS88\'s early days.  You had about 150 posts by the time I had 10 in!  :D

Since then, I\'m happy to say you have mellowed out and have become a productive member of society! :D  I\'m glad I stayed here, because this is a great board with some great folks!

It is much, much better here than the Everquest boards I used to haunt, which have gone the way of the dodo, thank the Lord!

Well heres my story its not very long:

Well i found this site around its begining in 99 when i was a library aid in highschool, but i never went to the forums i just went to the main page for the news - i liked how they  got news from everywhere so i visited the site everyday at school and then one day not so long ago almost a year later i said hey i think i will see what this forum thing is all about...so i went ahead and registered on Oct 1, 2000.

Life as a Member Here:

Well when i first came to the sites i didn\'t really know how to be noticed or what to post about so i just responded to what i thought interested me and someone else hadn\'t said the samething as me. So after a couple of months i built my post count to about 300 posts and then in february i decided to build up my post count, being sick and at home all day didn\'t hurt either...so i would post at least 50 posts a day - and then i started to pass up some of the other people that has passed me up when i registered in Oct. Eventually after the whole Spam Wars, as i call them, i had posted almost 1000 posts in a month and the funny thing is not many people noticed since i didn\'t spam - i really didn\'t - but after the Spam Wars ended i was now a good old member that everyone noticed - so since then i have been me and posted almost everyday - just not like i did in Feb though

thats my story and i am sticking to it
This Sig is a Work in Progress.

No. He got respected for drastically changing his attitude.

You know someone is respected when I stick up for him...

I stumbled across the main site when I was trying to import a PS2. I then submitted a review, and got hired. As I explored the site, I found the forums, and checked them out. This was in late April of 2000. I didn\'t really see the point of the forums, there was a bunch of arguing, and endless discussions about which system was better. Slowly, I became more interested, and I registered as Bearsfan. I couldn\'t retrieve my password, so I never posted with that name. You can still see the name in the memberlist, frozen in time for all to see. After Bjorn made a Rants and Raves forum, I asked if I could help out and moderate, since I was around so much. He said yes, and the rest is history.

When Jumpman returned from his banning he earned a lot a respect from me.  A change of attitude does make a difference.  And AlteredBeast, what are you insiniuating here?  Purple is not designated for gays only.  It goes for wrestlers too ;)

The honest truth on how I got here: I used to be a member of the now-defunct Blast City message board. One of the member there made a post about how crappy PSX2Central was and a lot of the people who posted here were idiots and he posted several links pointing out the stupidity of several member here. I followed the links and found my here and decided to sign up for the heck of it, since at the time I was only signed up at Blast City and was kinda getting bored of posting at the same old place. I posted here a few times until the the PS2 came out, then I left for a while because I had no intentions of getting a PS2 so I had nothing to talk about really. I still drop by from time to time, though.

back then i though i was never going to buy a PS2 until i started to read about it and it\'s line up of games.

infact i was planning to stick with my PSX for a very long time.

AlteredBeast: I was Soul Reaver at Blast City (I would have been Soul Reaver here too, but someone got my name. Grrr.... ;) ). If you mean Kaliediscope 2 when you say the new Blast City, then yeah I\'ve been there a few times. I\'m Soul Reaver there too.
