What happened to "backwards-compatability Mondays?"
« on: April 30, 2001, 11:28:47 AM »
A while back, there was a cool feature in these forums where somebody (I believe it was Ryu) reviewed PSX games worth going back to get for those who never played them.  Legacy of Kain was reviewed, and something else...don\'t remember what.  But he said it was going to be a regular feature, and it just stopped...what happened?  Anyway, some suggestions for future installments:

Einhander
Tomb Raider
Syphon Filter
Warhawk
Silent Hill

Anyone else out there remember this feature & miss it?  Thought it was a great idea...

Before I even bought any PS2 games, I went and spent a hundred bucks getting a bunch of the classics, FF7, FF8, Legend of Mana, GT, GT2, ChronoCross - etc.  These games are just soooo cheap now!

Why did you buy GT AND GT2?  I only bought GT2 because I heard it was just "more of the same."  I also got Twisted Metal 2 and Rogue Trip, which is pretty cool.

no the real question is why did you get Legend of Mana - that game was so much crap - they ruined all my hopes of a good Mana Sequel with that one - i mean dang they had two great games before - Secret of Mana and Legend of the Holy Sword[Secret of Mana 2] - these were awesome but i do understand that som people liked Legend of Mana but it didn\'t deserve to be called that

ok end of rant

I think GT 1 is better than GT2

Me thinks Ryu got lazy.

Anyhoo, I liked those threads too. It would be nice to continue the tradition.

I\'ve played so many PSone games it\'s not funny. I\'d carry on the \'tradition\', but I\'m pretty jaded, and piss off too many people now. People would scream for my head when I start ripping into GT1 & 2, FF8, etc....

Damn, im new here and have never heard of "backwards-compatability Mondays."  Oh well, sounds like i missed some kick ass views and opinons on older ps2 games.  I\'m all for someone starting it back up, in fact I\'d even be willing to help...anyone else for this idea?

Nope.  I got hired to write for http://www.psera.com and your BCM\'s will now be on their site but they will happen Fridays instead.  Sorry to dissapoint everyone, but I got tired of doing it for free, so I went and looked around and some people at psera thought my "skillz" were good enough to actually garner pay.  Therefore, they will be appearing there on a weekly basis in the form of my own column.  I know a lot of you were looking forward to a lot of cool games, but the only way to see them now is on http://www.psera.com every Friday.  In fact, the first game to grace their pages for the column will be Metal Slug X followed by Final Fantasy 7, Resident Evil, and a few others.  You can discuss them here if you tear out links and whatnot or in PSera.com\'s own forums.  Anyways, that\'s that, hope you\'re not all too pissed off, but I don\'t see why since you still get the content just in a neat little print form. :)
