It\'s not like the MATRIX video game will be good, hell Microsoft could very well dig their own hole.  I predict that happening.

Oh yea. MS is soooooo evil for gettin\' the rights to The Matrix. You know, if Sony wanted it , they could of got it. This is a pretty lame idea, that MS bullied their way to get the Matrix rights.

They very notion that Sony gives a damn about gamers is funny. MS done a smart buisness move, quit cryin\' about it.

Dude you got it backwards. MS is lending Interplay 5 million then charging them more royalties per copy sold and on top of that Interplay has till 2003 to pay back the 5 million

If anything I think Interplay is getting screwed but they must be hurting so bad for money they had to do this.

Some of you are passing on the game (in talk anyways) pretty early.... Methinks if this were Sony aquiring the 6 month exclusive, at least half of you (that are dissing it now) would be singing its praises.... The game might be bad, but it might be good too. MS dug themselves a hole how? By making a smart decision that will move a few extra units with the mainstream, and add to reasons XB will succeed?

but hey dose this news realy matter ?

Sony didn\'t want to waste money on a game they will get 6 months later ;).

ok so the PS2 version wont have online capability

but heck we have a whole host of PS2 excusives that will its only fair the X box has one too :D.

Well done for the X box and Ps2 i say Well done..........

Basically Microsoft is using it\'s bullying tactics. They are going to use this to take over the video game industry.
They bribed interplay into offering the Matrix for the Xbox with all this extra crap, and holding it from other consoles for atleast 6 months.

Well I would agree with you except Sony bankrolled Square\'s Final Fantasy movie which cost over 100 million dollars.  Now I don\'t know about you but there was a little backscratching going on.

Don\'t get me wrong Sony was absolutely right in doing so.  They are going to make a killing on the game and the movie will be an absolute success(IMHO).

It\'s sounds true that *Bill GATES* wants to take over the video gaming industry.  Sometimes i think Bill says this to developers, "Ok, I\'ll give you 1 billion if you make it for my system only for 4 years!" Who won\'t take that offer. If I was Bill i would do that. I know I\'ll make back the billions and more.  If bill does that to only the best games, for example GT3 sold over 1 million in the first 48hr he will make back his billions offers in just 2 years. Soon, we all have to get the X-box. This is just the begging of what Bill Gates will do. If this happen I\'ll just play with PSone games on my PS2.   I never part with PS2.  When the DC came out, in just 2 months i sold it for a PSX. and played with it until PS2 came out.  I just like Playstation.  I get the feeling that Bill is just try some new business venture out.  It\'s just temporary.  But you know Sony will not depart from PLAYSTATION!! I think most of Sony profits comes from PLAYSTATION system.:D

Who likes their PSX?  How \'bout their PS2?  You think these two machines have/are proving to the world that Sony offers some of the very best games on the videogame front?  How do you think that came to be?  Sony playing nice-nice?  Grow up...

Sony is as huge a megacorporation as Microsoft and for all the same reasons.  Ridge Racer, Wipeout, Tekken... these games came to us because Sony arranged exclusive agreements with their producers.

Getting to the top is all about playing "King of the Mountain"...and to win, you gotta shove everybody else off.  Strong-arm tactics, muscle, threats, ... that puts you on top.  It put Microsoft on top with Windows.  It put Sony on top with electronics.  And as long as it works, companies will continue doing it.

Even though I don\'t like Billionaire Bill all that much I do think that it\'s smart with the whole Interplay thing. Kinda like the Maffia.  If Interplay can\'t pay then as the motto goes.  If you can\'t beat \'em Join \'em as a first part...mwahahahaha mwahahahahaha.  I still love my 2nd:( PS2 anyways.  Specially with all the June games out.  XBox however doesn\'t interest me.

It\'s very strange that on the IGN PS2 site there is now no record of this news story, i checked this mornning and there was nothing about the matrix ?

now seeing that some PS2 sites have said this is only a rumour at the moment, i have to say i will wait till E3 or some pupblic anouncment by Interplay, Sony or Microsoft.

P.S.

Remember Gates can not use this method to buy every software developer under the sun, after all wasn\'t it that kind of behaviour that lead to the case against Microsoft........

Yeah keep it up MS and not only will your software company be split in half but your X box developing too..
