Ok i went into EB in the uk to pre-order GT3,so i asked when it is out,he said"MId July" i said ok.
So i then said but it can still be delayed right,he said "we will know when it is out in japan",i said it is out in japan,he then said "no it isnt" he then said"GT2000 has been released in japan and it is ****" and "GT3 a-spec will be released there soon" i couldnt beleieve what i was hearing,so i didnt bother to pre-order from there i am going to going to i am going somewhere else to pre-order GT3 now ,why do they take people on like this,that dont know what they are talking about.

Thats hilarious man, but I have a even more interesting story on "Clerk Stupidity".

A couple of months ago  I went to my local Funcoland, and the clerk asked me If I was getting a PS2. I told yes, and he says: "You do now that Xbox will be better", Im standing there going "here we go again". He told me that MGSX will be coming out Xbox and it will be a million times better. Then! His Candy Ass says that MGS2 to for the PS2 has been placed on halt by Konami because it is so much easier to develop on the Xbox, then he goes "So if you want to buy a PS2, you won\'t be playing MGS2 on it for a long time, and they might not release it at all". He told me to buy an xbox.

What a moron.

I would have done more then kicked him in the balls.

I have heard things like that so much about the Xbox,mine was in Blockbusters,two guys were standing there with 3 ps2 to rent,and the clerk goes,once the Xbox get here say bye bye to the ps2,i started laughing as hard as i could,just to make sure he heard me.

One thing that makes me laugh about your story is these guys are ment to be selling stuff,not making people change there minds,and put there products back,how stupid is that.

Also i think i am going to go back in there and make him feel a fool,start throwing all the gt3 sold on the first day,stuff like that.

Never EVER trust a video game store employee.  Surprisingly enough they know very very little about a wide variety of stuff.

And oddly enough, most think they are smarter and cooler than you.

I once thought it would be fun or cool to work in a video game store, until I heard about what the people actually talk about out loud.  Holy crap, no offense to people who work in VG Stores, but, do you ever think before talking?

These people, if they read ONE stinking magazine, just one, would be infinitely more informed about games and gaming.  I have helped more people in a VG Store than most clerks.

Sad... :(

PS- no offense intended towards VideoGame Store clerks in this forum.  If you are one of the few informed clerks, then I apologize.  If not...GET A CLUE!  :D j/k

When employees are stupid like that, just ask them if you can talk to their manager.  You can get them in so much trouble with their manager for them saying stuff like that.  You could even get them fired. :D

Where I work, some customer asked for the differences between the PS2 and PSX and my fellow staff member said that the PS2 is 128 bit and the PSX is only 16 Bit. I went to correct him on this but he said he knew what he was talking about.

He then went on to saying you have to buy an add on to play dvd movies, but it isnt out yet. He then said that when you play PSX games on your PS2 the graphics improve to the quality of the actual PS2 games.

I just let him finish then I said to the customer:

\'I\'m very sorry sir, but my misinformed fellow employee hasnt got a clue what he is talking about so just totally ignore anything he says\'

I then went on to correct all these wrongs.
I then educated the dumb ass all about the PS2.

Heh, I will be working the rest of this summer at one of my local EBs, so I guess I should diversify a little more, and start reading about all the things I tend to ignore right now.  At least I won\'t be making glaring mistakes, after all, I can usually just admit that I don\'t know or that I was wrong.....

The thing is ,is they know that people are going to ask about games,and hardware,so why the hell dont they read a little bit of info on it.It makes me so angry,when you get served by people like this,i think i am going to go and talk to his manager,about him,get him in some trouble,i mean how dare he say that GT3 is crap!!!

I know exactly what you\'re saying there Ethan... at my local EB, a brand new one and considered a flagship store for those here in Brisbane, asking what time a game will be out is less likely to get you a correct answer than asking a hobo.... i tell you....

I got, as DEFINITE arrival times for certain games, ie. they said they were 100% confirmed, and no changes would be made, they\'ve already signed away for them... they said

GT3 would be available February
MGS2 would be available January 21
FFIX would be available January 2nd (it ended up coming out a month and 2 days later)
and Timesplitters would be there on release day

Of course delays in the industry itself can be blamed for delays, nothing more. But the fact that they confirmed 100% to me that these games would be at their store when it was really a blatant lie annoyed me.

Oh yeah, we pre ordered AND prepaid for a multitap a few months before PS2 release when we ordered. The multitaps were delayed, so they told us they\'d ring when they were in. They called us.... i went, no multitap....

Finally they called us.... I went in. "sorry..... we sold your multitap"

Demanded the money back (in front of many people), and went and bought it at K-mart... for cheaper too.
