Final Fantasy X Game Length...

How long do you think FFX will be? considering many PS2 games being released lately are very short (Starfighter, ZOE, Onimusha). Add to that the difficulty of coding for PS2. I heard that Hideo Kojima said that Metal Gear 2 would be roughly the same length as the original psx game

Do you think it will be as long as what FF7 was?

well FF7 was about 35 houres ! so for me that ok ... i would like longer but heck what are ya gonna do ?

Hopefully they would have a brilliant group of people working on the game.

but, IMHO, it isn\'t the time it takes to beat the game your first time through..
but if you can play the game 3-4 times before you get bored of it.

In RPG\'s, I don\'t think it\'s length that counts, but the replayability.

Two DVDs sounds like a good length to me....

i hope its as long as ff7!!! it\'ll sux if it is as short as ff9...IMO.

im over 30 hours with FF9 so far, and i havent finished...although im up to the 4th disc

FF7 is the sort of game it would be nearly impossible to beat under 20 hours, and on your first time through if you wanted to take you time and get everything could be 100 hours.

took me about 50 hours for FF7 the first time...i think...although my level was only 30

i dont even know what im talking about anymore.  nyhoo, im sure its a big game

Mbigdo11 - It isn\'t two DVDs it\'s one.  The two DVD version supports HDTV, and higher res cutscenes with better sound quality.  So the basic game package is ... er... well over 10 CDs worth of stuff though (7.95 gigs).

Final Fantasy X is being set-up in an entirely different way then VII was. I expect Square to say the game will be roughly 40-45 hours of game play. Which meens that it will take me almost to 200, atleast for the first time through.

They said that with the exception of a few areas and fights, the camera didn\'t have to resize the characters - that alone will probably save an hour or two...  Then again, if they say it can be finished in 40 hours, it always takes me a minimum of 2x that, cause I like to lvl chars and find all the goodies.  

Will FFX come out in 2 DVD´s? really good...

I finished FFVII in about 46 hours... I hope this X has about 50 or 60... without big secrets, mini-games, big weapons...

35 hours!!!! I always muck around heaps and try to get everything. FF7 and FF8 both went over 100 hours for me, and I\'m up to 64 hours on FF9 and i\'ve only just started the 3rd disk!

I have a feeling it will be a tad bit shorter than say Final Fantasy VII with it being the first PS2 outing. Its bound to be long enough for it to be worth purchasing though. This is a Final Fantasy game after all.

Yeah length is really dependant on your style of play. I myself like to level characters a bit, and get a lot of stuff, but I try not to do EVERYTHING first time. FF7 took me about 60 hours to complete the first time I think. I played it again, but I kept my original file, and have built that into my ultimate file.... i\'ve easily racked up more than 300 hours on that baby since 1997....

I\'d say FFX will be quite long... they\'d want to make it a big outing being their first PS2 FF.... but really, TOO long just isn\'t a good thing. It\'s not a bad thing, but if FFX had say, between 50 and 100 hours or raw gameplay (yeah.. I know 100 is shooting high), it\'d take me between 100-200 hours to finish, and I really don\'t have that amount of time, that is to say it\'d take me MONTHS and MONTHS to finish..... and it gets irritating when I had study to do for uni, but I still have work to do on a game, takes my attention away.

ah well, let\'s just say I\'ll be happy with it so long as it\'s more than 30 hours raw gameplay... I\'m pretty sure Square is intelligent enough to provide that

dude,ive spent over 70 hrs on ff7, all my characers are at level 99. i dont have all limit breaks, though and i dont have knights of the round, but i still cant beat it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have stopped playing it till they come out with the master cheat.... opps. wait. the gameshark dosent work on the ps2 D@MNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


hopefully ffX will be the same length,  i heard you can do stuff onln with it too!!!!! i wonder what.........

I think the story will be long, but the world small.
