Twisted Metal: Black
« on: May 08, 2001, 03:52:04 PM »
Incognito studios is going all out to regain the fame of  the twisted metal series with the soon to be released, latest in the series, Twisted Metal: Black
the developers promise that this game will be running at a SOLID 60 fps.(a good relief from the red faction problem)
the story is about calypso and how he breaks out lots of crazy people from jail to fight in his car combat "sport"
the game seems centered around multiplayer(4 people can play, as usuall) with co-op and deathmatch options.
(they say 60 fps with 4 players too :D)
there are supposedly 19-21 levels including DM levels, co op and such, and all of them are absolutely huge..
one level starts you off battling in a prison ship, then the prison opens up and you find yourself on a tanker heading to an island. th ship even docks in the island, and you can explore the island too.. think about that 19-21 levels that BIG :D yummy:D:D
all of the levels are totally interactice,(within reason) if there is a water tower, and you shoot one of its legs out, it teeters around, then if you shoot another, it falls to the ground:D harming or killin\' anything it touches on its way down. you can shoot down helicopters and planes, even  shoot a ferris wheen, until it rolls through the city! these are some of the many interactive features that are in this game.
so will incognito win back the support of its audience?
i say hell yeah!!!!!
here\'s the link to the prevew on ign:
http://ps2.ign.com/previews/15456.html

here are some high res screens for youre drooling:

but hell, i only think the movies actually show what this game\'s really about, so go to the site, and check it out!!

will they put some life back into the twisted metal series?
i say. oh yeah. :smokin:
IM BACK. you have a problem with that? get in the back.

Yeah!!! I just heard the 60FPS news too. Thanks for the info. I can\'t wait for this game. I\'ve been waiting for a "true" sequel since Twisted Metal 2 (3 & 4 weren\'t made by the same company and they sucked a**).

The movies are spectacular. The funnest part of Twisted Metal has always been trying to find which driver you like the best. Atleast for me anyway.

I didn\'t expect anything less from a graphics POV but the mature (dark & brooding) motif is definitely cool.

Thankgod they decided not to finish out the series with 3 and 4.  Those games actually seemed to take the graphics and play backwards a step.  This game, however, looks pretty cool.  I\'ll rent it.  If it lives up to the original, it\'s a buy... damn... that means I\'ll need another controler!

Correction: That means you\'ll need 3 more controllers and a multitap. ;)  This is going to be sweet.

I can\'t wait!  If they can revive the near-perfect gameplay of Twisted Metal 2 and combine it with a solid 60-fps framerate, then I have no doubts that TM: Black will be a great game.  I think it\'s about time I preorder this one.
