Best gaming Memory?

What is your best gaming memory?....I have a few but the one that stands out is NFS2.  I know it had crap graphics but there was one thing that stood out...

The computer controlled cars had great (destructive AI).  There was this one guy by the name of "Woody".  He always drove a green Lotus Esprite.  He had such an attitude that if you bumped into him he would do anything to screw you up.  So the idea of the game was the bump into Woody, piss him off and see how fast you can complete a lap.

That is the one of my best memories, I love that game because of a computer controlled car by the name of Woody?....go try it!!

Hehe - one of my best memories were the hours spent playing Mario Kart with my friends. "Take that lightning, turtle-guy!" [ that in finnish: "Ota salama, kilpikonna-äijä!" :) ]

Another experiences wich will never leave my mind is me and my friend playing Lemmings. Sentences like "This is impossible!", "No it\'s not", "I KNOW how to complete this level!", "No you don\'t!"...

God, there is so many...

One of the best memories is when I was playing Sleuth with a friend, it was a very primitive PC detective game where u could name the suspects. We always named them our friends and laughed for hours when the suspects told they spent the whole night with someone in the bedroom. We were young.

Another fond memory was while playing FFVII for the first time. Seeing the tragic explosion of the factory and Cloud\'s fall blending seamlessly to the meeting of Aeris, I suddenly realized that this was no ordinary game. This was art. I had the same feeling after the motorcycle chase when they were leaving Midgar. And when a character died.

And I still like to remember the time when I beat Hawke in Soul Blade, 15 times in a row ^_^

The day I FINALLY snagged my sweet, golden copy of Final Fantasy III on SNES. I don\'t know if there is such a thing as a non-sexual orgasm, but if there is, I was gettin them that day (July 26, 1997)

Overall I like FF7 better, but the first time I laid hands on that cartridge ranks up there with being born as the best thing that ever happened to me.

if we\'re talking about fave moments while PLAYING games, I\'d say definitely a) getting Zelda 2: the adventures of link as a young-un in 1989... opening it up and being introduced to the world of RPG\'s... DAMN fine stuff that

the HOURS spent playing that game, mario 3, and double dragon will always stand out to me. In recent memory, DEFINITELY playing FF7. Such a good story with the best progression and development of a story I\'ve played in a game. The story changed JUST the right amount at JUST the right times, so that it surprised you but never lost you.... premium stuff
Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

I think the earliest memory that I can remember that\'s good was the day I waited in line, by myself - with only my paper route earnings - to buy a sega genesis (yes, the enormous 1\'st gen one).  I was so unbelieviably happy that day, and I played altered beast for about 3 days straight.  At the time, it was a pretty impressive game...

Yes, I agree with you guys FFVII was/is a classic.

The part where Aeris died was really a sad day in my life, but it made the game worth while.

Another game that I played day in and day out was "Battle Toads" on the Genesis.

Doing a fatality on MK1 was also lots of fun.

Remember the days when you and your mates used to play on the nintendo 8bit.  We played Konami Olympics and it was pure gameplay!....always cheating with the turbo buttons......yeah......those were the good old days. but I,m sure that there are plenty to come.

Chrono trigger on SNES. Going into the town during the fair, with all the balloons going in the air. Gave me a great feeling.

Wild Arms The intro still sends chills down my spine. All in all the game just feels great:)

Somewhere back in the early 80\'s.
My nephew had this handheld Space Invaders clone, that\'s when I got my videogame addiction.
It had these bright green and red colors on a pitch black screen. I would dive into that world and lose all
track of time getting better scores until the batteries ran dead.
I believe it was made by Tandy, good quality stuff it was.

I have many memories, but one stands out.  In 1988 EA published a PC game called 688 Attack Sub which I originally played on my father\'s 8088 PC.  Later I took it up on a roommate\'s 386/25 and eventually beat the final mission, called "Hit and Run."  That sucker was hard.  You had to launch a couple cruise missiles at a target in E. Germany and then escape out the North Sea.  It was nearly impossible due to the ungodly number of Russian missle cruisers, subs, and air reconnaissance combing the entire area.  Conservation of weapons was a must.  This was before internet access, so I had to develop all techniques myself.  What a thrill it was to finally beat that game.

The followup Sea Wolf was OK, but most other submarine games I\'ve tried have been disappointing.  (Like 688(i) Hunter/Killer)  When they try to simulate how sonar really works, it gets boring pretty fast.

I guess it\'s abandonware, so you can find 688 Attack Sub if you look.
