some informants have said thatthe game is now running at 19mpps... a feat to behold..and that naughty dog wants to have the game running at 21 mpps while at60FPS... if this turns out to be true....i want it.

Maybe someone should tell Rubin to lay off the Everclear. That stuff\'s kinda strong.

Seriously though, I doubt that Naughty Dog could have achieved 20mpps in-game this early in the PS2\'s life. If they have however, they\'ll give Nintendo and MS a huge run for their money.

You know, I think maybe Ethugg posts the opposite point of view from the title of the post, no matter what the subject content is.

I took into account the quality of the game, and tried to judge fairly based on the poor quality of Quicktime movies, esp. this one which even with the 50mb file obviously was a poor representation of the games obviously brilliant looking visuals and design. No, I don\'t usually argue unless I actually feel that way. I think this game looks promising, look past the poor compression of the video, and I think you would agree.

Not the best looking graphics I\'ve ever seen, but I think it looks kind of cool.

I have noticed a double standard on these boards.  After GameStock all the PS2 fanboys took cheap shots at early Xbox games on unfinished hardware.  However, when Xbox fans take a jab at early PS2 games on FINISHED hardware something\'s wrong.  I think a lesson should be learned from this, don\'t judge a game until it\'s finished.  

About the 19 mpps, from what I saw in the trailer, the game doesn\'t even break 10 mpps.   Those polygon numbers came from the fanboy cesspool otherwise known as the IGN forums, so don\'t bolster your arguments with that. The game looks like a souped-up N64 game.  I thought the GC was the "kiddy" system and that ND was going for a more "mature" game.  There\'s still hope though, maybe the game will have sex, violence and bad language a la Conker\'s Bad Fur Day!

this is where an idea is placed and a games engine is developend as well as story and additional material (sound Motion capture etc....)

from this we move slowly onto play testing the earily code with in house play testers ....

Feed back is supplyed from the play tresting and gameplay is tweeked......

the next stage once the BASICs are completed is the addition and refinement of grapichs, animation and sound.

again at the end of this stage its handed over to the play testers and feed back is used.........

now either aT this stage or BEFORE details of the game is leaked to the PRess, in this cas seeingthat it is a ....

I don\'t think anyone should be defending Rubin or his game along those lines.  He choose the playing field with the jabs he made after GameStock knowing full well it was early software on unfinished dev kits.

As much as I hate Rubin, that doesn\'t excuse dissing a promising game over poor internet video....

Hmmm.... still have to disagree.  This guy has made some very ugly comments about the competitors and has hyped game in the same breath.  If he gets burnt for not delivering a product that out does Xbox games then there is no one to blame but himself.

When we see good video or screens, if it falls short I\'d agree, but I\'m saying at this point, with the little we\'ve seen it\'s unfair. If you need to diss something right now, diss ND\'s poor video capturing.

well personally i don\'t ever expect much from Naughty Dog - they have never seemed to really get me hooked on their games or anything

• The PRODUCTION shots where taken from a MPEG of Game being tested at its earily stage
• Even though i have not been here for 24 hours, noone who isn\'t worth listening to has done nothing but Hype this project, while NORMAL members have comented on this game (idiots hype Members didn\'t).

It is ok to use that excuse for a ps2 game, but oh no show a ms game that is 20% done and not even on final hardware and that game sucks before it is even finished. The only reason why i stuck up for this game was because the pictures we had (and Mpeg for that matter) where of very poor veiwing quality, now if you downloaded and viewed it like the rest of us then you would of found that out.

It would be diffrent if they released still pictures that where toughed up by paint shop pro...........

True but when you look at it we are looking at a rough movie with prity basic graphics, What Rubin did or did not do is between him and Gamestock , thats forthem to settle after all.


Even if you HATE him , why hold somethign against his product......

If you liked a product but hated the person that made it , well then, no one would buy Genesis Albums seeing that Phil Colins was with them for soo long :laughing:.....

I think you are taking this too seriously.   This is like the Coach of team "A" saying something along the lines of ,"I have seen team B practicing and those boys couldn\'t catch a ball to saves their lives, they are no competition".  If that coach\'s team fails to out do team "B" in practice one cannot help but crack a grin.  It is not about console vs console or game vs game (I may very well buy the game if it is good), it is just about seeing Rubin back-peddle on his numerous, hopelessly arrogant statements.
