I knew all those people saying it would be $400 and up were idiots.  This is gonna be a war...at least in the states.

Still might be a bit high. Especially since there are Rumors of a Sony price drop.

Count on a price drop. Sony wouldn\'t sell theirs for the same price when a shiny new competitor is on the block.
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Yes, a price drop would be wise...

I\'m not so sure.  C0ckiness runs deep in both Sony and Microsoft.  Think about what each of them has said:

Microsoft: "Does the PS2 come w/a hard drive?"
Sony: "Does the X-box come w/a DVD player?"
This is America and I can still pay for sex with pennies

Sony will lower to $250, I imagine, but the $300 price tag won\'t hurt MS. $300 has been a norm since the 32bit era, and isn\'t that much.

I\'m much more curious to see what Nintendo launches at, as they will be launching before the XBox (I assume) so their price could effect the Xbox launch alot more then any Sony price drop.

STill, all those who said the XBox will cost $400 or more was dead wrong.
