Today, THQ announced Dark Summit, a "mission-based" snowboarding game for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Developed by Radical Entertainment, the team behind the successful MTV Sports snowboarding games for PlayStation (including MTV Sports: Pure Ride), Dark Summit includes detailed objectives and a complex storyline to go along with snowboarding challenges.
More than 45 such tasks are presented on Mt. Garrick, such as Half Pipe Hero and Backcountry Helicopter. Completing challenges earns reputation points, which are what you need to unlock restricted areas of the slopes and work towards uncovering the mystery of Mt. Garrick\'s sinister ranger Chief O\'Leary.
"\'Dark Summit\' is a revolutionary game design in that it\'s the first snowboarding game to incorporate mission-based objectives and a compelling story line," said Michael Rubinelli, THQ\'s VP for product development. "It combines high-flying, crazy, big air tricks with tactical challenges and a compelling story line to keep gamers hooked from beginning to end, yet it never loses sight of the tight physics and gorgeous graphics you\'d expect from a ground breaking Xbox [or PS2] title."
