Hi guys,
Alone 4 is out in France (ps1), and I bought last friday. I don\'t regret it, it\'s a great game and I\'ll buy
the ps2 version. Here comes my short review :
- Graphics. I\'ll be short here, since the PS2 version is going to be enhanced. Nice pre rended graphics,
but the characters are note very well modelized. Characters in RE3 opr Parasite Eve 2 were better.
But that will be ok with PS2 !
- Gameplay : nothing really new, but it works great ! We have the same inventory system as in RE,
some really nices riddles, not too easy, not too hard. In fact the game is more an adventure game
that an action game : the story is great, and you\'ll really have to investigate, read books and find clues
in order to find the solution of a riddle.
- Sound : Excellent, from the music to the weather effects, and all the small and strange noises that can happen
in that big mansion. Of course there is like in RE some shock moments, where everything is quiet and suddenly
something appears just near you screaming !
- General ambiance : great. Not that scary, but it\'s really great, you just feel like if you\'re there, exploring
that old mansion. What\'s really nice is that you use a small light, just like in silent hill. Some rooms are
all in the dark, and you\'ve got only your little light....Some monsters are afraid of the light, so sometimes
when you\'ve got no ammo, you have to turn your light everywhere, and you know in the darkness
the monsters are waiting for you....
The game is quite long, it took me more than ten hours to finish the first CD (out of two), including all
the game overs and the re starts.
And there are two adventures...one with the guy, one with the girl. I still havent played the girl.
The ps2 version is going to be survival horror at its greatest !!!
