Also StanZo what do think of the Rallying stage, love the cool lighting and dust effects.

It is very nice :D.

Also Baldars Gate 2 looks stunning, a must have for any one who loves RPG\'s and has a PS2.

It\'s well impressive innit? Before i\'d seen this footage on the DVD i had the oppurtunity to see it running in my local
importers. Man i just stood there in awe, totally dumbfounded. As far as the rally stage goes, i think the little
effects such as the headlights as they pass through the dust (check the impreza round the first hard left hander).
I just think that it looks cool. i doubt that this game wil be bettered any time soon. As far as reality is concerned
i just think its amazing. I dont know if it\'s just something to do with the Pc faithful, but most seem to believe
that their PC could do GT3. i find this hillarious, it could prbably reproduce the visuals but as far as framerate goes
it would probably run at about 3 FPS. I simply just can\'t wait to get hold of this game. Iv\'e been playing GT2 just
to get the feel back again and it still rocks bigtime.

Another minor point is that my mate (who also saw it running) is going on holiday for 2 weeks, but he goes
a day before UK release. Needless to say he\'s pissed.

Overall man, this is one of my most anticipated games of the year. Me GT3 nut :D

Hehe kidding.

Ok I liked them, they are impressive.

I really like the looks of that Tokyo level and the rally one is ace. Its cool racing through the city with all the nice trees and stuff. :) Im not a car fan as such but I like racing games. Thought the first GT\'s were a bit transpotterish but this one looks so class.

Also have you seen baulders gate (news section of DVD) that looks really good too.

Anyone found the PSW DVD flickerly. I mean check out the headings in the menu and the highlighted options they flicker like mad. Anyone elses like this ?

Yep, it does look a little interlaced doesn\'t it. There is also a problem with \'dotcrawl\', Look at a red piece of text.
you will see some lines floating about. this is due to the composite output for the playtation 2, It can be fixed
but needs to be modified internaly. I\'m not quite ready to tinker inside my PS2, seeing as some top notch games
are on their way. The internal modification lets you play DVD\'s in colour through an RGB scart. This will get rid of
a lot of unwanted \'noise\' and dotcrawl. anyway, i\'m off to take my daughter school. be back later.

Yeah me neither. It may only be one wire modifcation but whilst my PS2 is under warrentee I ain\'t unscrewing it. :)

Anyway I tired using my RGB scart I use for games and its still very flickerly on the titles and selected items. (It was all green screen but I mean you can see flicker through the green screen, it doesnt protect it or anything).

I also then put Stuart Little DVD in to try. This had hardly any flicker at all, but flicker was present but you had to strain to see it and REALLY had to strain to see it actually in the film. I tired this with a normal composite cable rather than RGB.

So take a look now, cause with normal films its really hard to see, you wont have noticed it normally without looking for it. Put a film in and on the static menu with composite cable strain and try and see if it flickers at all. It will be very slight, and then tell me about when the film is playing.

I just notice these things and then they bug me. Im sure / hope my PS2 is fine. :)

- EDIT

Finally could PS2 DVD flicker be down to which film you use. I mean the PSW DVD is 100% flicker whilst the Stuart Little DVD has very little flicker. The reason I ask is because if you lot come back and say nope theres no flicker at all then I will be wondering what is wrong with my PS2 but that could be an explaination.

Ill wait and see what you guys see first. BTW the flicker is very hard to notice, you need to really look at the selected items in the menu.

Yeah, i see what you\'re gettin\' at Rich, if you\'ve ever had an amiga you\'ll notice this effect as interlacing.
It used to be real bad on the old amiga if you used a high colour display.
I notice it more on the thin lines (DVD Film section from PSW DVD) i just think that it\'s a characteristic of the PS2
and i\'m not sure that it can be fixed. The only way IMHO is to use FSAA and using it on a DVD film isn\'t a
standard procedure in anyway. i can honestly say that this wont be fixed. Sorry guys its just one of those things.
I have noticed it on a couple of other DVDs but only in the Menu select screens. I believe it\'s when you have a
static picture or a static area that has thin lines.
Shame really, i notice them more than other people on my 29\' Toshiba :D

Honestly Rich, it isnt your machine this applies to every PS2.
