Where are the Screws
« on: May 22, 2001, 09:06:00 PM »
Ok it was the news when the debut of the PS2 was here, Iraqi stealing or buying PS2\'s for missile commandng, or guidence.  Well anyway, have you ever look underneath the PS2, and found absolutley no screws?  I think that the government and SCEA, made it this way, so that adolecenses, or adults would try to build contraptions out of the insides.  Like they\'d have the knowledge anyway.  I dont know.....
...

Let me know what you people think.
Thanks.

Yeah I know what you mean.  I think that you could open it, but do you think that anything of the insides could be put together to create something destructive.  Maybe a new Metal Gear...haha J/K.

dude it not that hard to open it, no that i have but i was just curiouse when i figured itout, all you have 2 do it pull out the little rubber feet fromthe bottom of the console & there are the screws, dont pull out the side ons cause those dont come out ! lol

the reason i know htis is becauise you have to pull out the little feet to put it on the horizontal stand, i was like cool so i pulled them out.

Theres more screws than just those.  The others are under things that look kinda like the rubber pads but are hard plastic. They just pop right off (They\'re made to it doesn\'t break them).  I was confused about that at first to.

Who caers. Why would you want to open your PS2?????
A schizophrenic patient will not allow anyone to touch them; not because they would do them some harm, but because they might electrocute them.

There is no way I would open my PS2

1)  I have no clue what i\'m doing when it comes to this stuff

2)  I would kill myself if i did something to my PS2 (thats bad)

3) As already stated it breaks the warranty.
Wrong. There are two other people who can.

The easiest way to open the PS2 is to rip out the "hideaway drink holder" (that slides out of the front for you to rest your Big Gulp)...then a Sony certified service center will open the unit for you... :nut:

Picture this: Dave finds an available seat for his \"Aggressive Drivers Anonymous\" encounter group session.   Saying, \"Hello\" he sits amongst his support group of S2K owners...  Smiling, they rock ever-so-gently to and fro in their chairs...humming peacefully...drinking coffee...and rolling little AutoArt & Maisto S2000s across their knees.  At this moment, the group responds in unison, \"Hi, w1ngman!\" :D

Its not that I would want to open my PS2, damn thing cost too much in the first place, and as you said, it would break the warrenty, and I would totally f*** it up, which I would really not like, then I will find the FBI at my house, speaking of, had anybody sent in that free DEMO DISC paper, for the free DEMO DISC, of course?  I did, and I stil have no DEMO DISC.  I think it is just like a Handgun Regestration, so if they ever need to find out who has the gun, they\'ll goto the house, as with the PS2, Im thinking that if you opend it then, I dont know maybe the FBI will come knocking at the door, accusing me of making missile guidence systems......I DONT KNOW, MAYBE I AM PARINOID
