I was born to a very poor family, underground. Unlike most of the Drow
you may know of, I wasnt born in Sak\'Marquil, it was a dingy city called
Trizul. This underground city was very crowded, because most of the workers
among us were too lazy to dig bigger tunnels. When I was young, I was
taught many things that, now, I know were all lies. Like, that Elves were
evil and that the catacombs that I lived in was the only place possible
for a Drow to live.

I gave in to these things, because there was no reason a for a Drow not
to believe them. I found out later that my ancestors were banished from
the other Drow at Sak\'Marquil, for whatever reason, we are not sure.
They built a huge colony underground, after trying to survive in what
was then known as the surface, but were soon banished from there also.
None of us Drow have ever seen it at this point. Though, there are many
old passages that have not been explored, or ones that have been closed
down for centuries. We had never thought to search for an exit.

I loved hate, and I hated love. At my age, most of the Drow were to the
point of having a life-mate in some way or another, but I hated people, I
was one of the most vile creatures in Trizul. I loved torturing the animals
that lived in the guts of Ellandor with us. I loved stealing from other
Drow, even though I got caught a lot. I was feared by many, not because of
me being strong or anything, but because of how I treated the other Drow.
To keep me out of trouble, I was usually the one sent off to find Gnomes to
use as a sacrifice, I loved doing it. Butchery was one of my few passions.
I was only 16 at the time, but I loved pain. I guess it was because of my
immorality that I felt no pain and only the uncomfortable numbness in the
life of a Drow.

One day, a tall, strange looking animal with white skin and stubby ears,
that looked very similar to us Drow but those few differences, was found
snooping around, he was seized and brought to the jail. I later found out
that it was a different race called Human. I decided to visit the jail
to torment the weird animal as I usually did with the other new prisoners.
When I got there, it was sitting in the corner smelling some sort of strange
red and green thing (which I later learned was a flower). I watched in
amazement as the strange being muttered a few words that caused the object
it was smelling to turn brown and fall to the ground, as this happened,
green sparkles of light fluttered into the ground and surrounded the room.
I was still staring in complete bewilderment. The room seemed to radiate
a bright green. The animal then muttered a few more words and suddenly
the glow of the room was cast into him! His body slowly began to shrink
and change shape. He has turned into a rat!

The rat walked over to the bars of the jail cell and walked through.
Now standing next to me, he looks up and sees me staring at him. Shaking his
little head, he then walks on down the hall towards the exit of the prison.
He passes several Drow that don\'t really notice him because of the already
abundant amount of rats around. Still staring at him, I start to follow.
He walks out into the open where I follow him. He traveled through many
tunnels and paths that I have never seen before, and it seems like they
have not been used for years. The rat hasn\'t noticed me following, or
had and hadn\'t cared. We climbed paths that led up for a very long time.
Through winding tunnels leading off in many directions. I noticed a speck of
light coming from ahead of me, I thought that maybe it could have been just
another colony of Drow or something, but as we got closer, the light got too
bright to be just the light from torches or lanterns, so I shielded my eyes
until my they adjusted to the bright light, it appeared to take forever.
In that time I had lost track of the rat.

I walked up into the light and looked around... I was completely mesmerized!
The ceiling above was a bright blue color, spotted with puffy looking white
things that seemed to move across the top of this gigantic mound of dirt.
Then as I looked around, I thought about it a little. I realized I wasn\'t
in a cave at all, I was at the surface! The surface was only a myth though,
it couldn\'t be the surface. Maybe I was dreaming... No, it wasn\'t a dream,
no way, too real. I looked around again, the ground was hard like the caves,
and was very rocky. The area far around me in any given direction was mostly
lifted from the ground in large pointy rocks that seemed to stretch high
into the air. The air... The air was sweet, had a peculiar smell to it,
kinda funny, breathing deep made me me feel so alive! Unlike the stale
air back home that made me feel dirty and light headed whenever I took a
deep breath, even though Drow are adapted to that sort of thing.

I decided to go along with my surroundings and look for the rat again.
I looked around and didn\'t see him anymore, last I saw him, he was going
towards the steep, rocky incline up ahead. He couldn\'t have made it over yet,
but he is so small I couldn\'t see it anyway, it blended into the ground.
I started running in that direction, tripping most of the time, I scraped
my knee on a large rock. As I was running, now really just limping fast,
I saw more of that green light come from ahead and stopped to watch it.
The light faded and the animal from the jail popped into view, still very
far up the incline. The tall, white animal started walking up the big rock,
I followed, running along. He disappeared over onto the other side of it
and I lost site of him once again.

The light that was so bright earlier is fading. The area was getting dark.
I can\'t see a thing anymore. Now I am hungry, I have been hungry for quite
some time now but just now noticed. I gave up on the search and sat down.
I touched my knee which was bleeding pretty badly from all of the falls I
took while chasing down that animal. My rumbling stomach was the only sound
I heard for the rest of the night. Too tired to stay awake, too excited to
go to sleep. I sat on the hard ground, which I had adapted to very easily,
and looked at the sky for the rest of the night. I finally fell asleep,
a dark, dreamless sleep.

When I awoke the next morning I was not where I was when I had fallen asleep.
I was in a cave again, but a small cave with light brown walls that were
smooth and flat. Square holes were cut into the sides that let beams of
the bright white light that I had seen the day before in. I sat up and
looked at what I was sleeping on. It was white and soft, I have never
felt anything that soft in my life. I looked around the room and saw
that there was a door. I got up off the white fluff I was sleeping on and
walked over to it, opened the door and walked out. I expected the outside
to look like the rocky area I was in the day before, but it wasn\'t that.
The ground was flat and covered with green hairs. The area around me had
big bushy looking things on tall brown stalks, which I later learned were
trees. That man I was following was sitting next to one of those trees
petting a tiger. The tiger growled at me. "Aaah, you have awakened.",
the man said, though I didnt understand him at the time. I stared at him
in amazement... Hes intelligent! He seems to have his own language!

Throughout the next 4 years he taught me the ways of the Druid. I learned
many things about the land above the underground, and he taught me that
there is really nothing bad or evil about Elves, even though I am allergic
to them. He helped me to figure out that sacrificing Gnomes was a stupid
thing to do, and that it was not necessary for us to do in the first place,
and that t was just a reason for Drow to kill stuff.

On the day I turned 20, the Human, who never even told me his name, perished.
I cried at his death, the first time I had ever cried, but he told me his
time would soon come. I buried him in the ground like he wanted me too,
under his favorite tree. He had no family, or friends... Well, except me.
I figured that was why we took me in as an apprentice. I then gathered
my stuff and started heading north and found a road leading east and west.
Acting purely on instinct I started traveling toward the east where I found
the grand city of Devenon.................
\"You know back before the war broke out I was a saucier in San Antone. I bet I could collar up some of them greens, yeah, some crawfish out the paddy, yo\'! Ha! I\'m makin\' some crabapples for dessert now, Ya hear! Hell yeah, ha!

MetalGear007 - Do you have to quote the whole story again?
Sorry, it just gets annoying scrolling down all that way. You could just quote the first paragraph :)
A schizophrenic patient will not allow anyone to touch them; not because they would do them some harm, but because they might electrocute them.
