I wouldn\'t think you\'d have to pay extra for blueray because the games are on blue ray, are they not?

That and one big point of PS3 is to promote Blueray and be another platform that isn\'t HD-DVD.

Avatarr:good point.It would have been a bad strategy if they forced you to pay extra for BR since one of PS3\'s purposes in the market is to do just that.

Titan: Well that would have been irrelevant if that was the case.The availability of XBOX games on DVD didnt stop MS from forcing you to pay a few extra bucks to play DVD movies.

They\'re probably going to think long term.. .  I\'m sure Sony is smart enough to do that.  

What\'s the margin on DVDs these days?  6-12 dollars a the producer side of the market?  I\'m sure that Sony knows they\'ll make much more money if they end up dominating the HD movie market in 5 years than they will ever make purely on profit from the PS3.  As such, it makes sense for them to take the hit now, take the risk, dominate the future market for movies.
