Reverend, you are not psychic.  We can go around and around about this all we want, but it won\'t change the fact that we have NO idea who will have the most sales.  Even when PS2 is outselling XBox this time next year, you\'ll have to factor in the one year headstart.

Rev: "Microsoft\'s gonna spend $500 mil in advertising"
PS2\'ers: "PSX had 80 million customers who know the Sony name"
Rev: "The XBox is more powerful!"
PS2\'ers: "PS2 has several recognizable franchises; no console really challenged PSX\'s franchises last generation."
Rev: "XBox is a breeze to develop for..."
PS2\'ers: "PS2 has a one year headstart to build up a library and userbase - XBox has to catch up"

Then you insult mm. "By your logic N64 would\'ve beaten PSX."  Um, YES.  IF the N64 had been released a YEAR BEFORE the Playstation.  And IF the N64 wasn\'t the victim of stupid ass decision making (cartridges??!?  what the hell were they thinking?).  You people need to stop comparing the two generations; everything is different.

As far as you Rev - you are another extremist.  There\'s PS2 extremists who say "Sega will die next year".  Theres Nintendo extremists who say "PS2 will have no good games and all jaggies."  Then there\'s you.  "XBox will win the war.".  Specs aren\'t finalized.  Dev kits aren\'t finalized.  Launch list isn\'t finalized.  Launch price isn\'t finalized.  Developer list is still growing.  Dreamcast has 3 million users.  PS2 is limited ONLY by it\'s shortage.  Who knows how well Gamecube will do.  You have no idea who will win the war.  One year headstart - thats nothing to be sneezed at.

Oh bull****. You think a shortage will make developers unhappy especially since Sony is meeting their projections of sales all over the world? It\'ll have the opposite effect as in, EA will see the sell outs everywhere, say "oh my god, look how our games are selling systems and are generally being bought with each system sold" and progressively piss their pants at what geniuses they are. Also, are you retarded? What made you think that EA would NOT develop for other consoles? What you think cuz they dump Sega, they are going to stick with Sony only for the rest of their companies existance? Please, put down the crackpipe. EA was going to develop for all the next gen consoles, cept say sega, and that is a fact. To be gullible enough to fall into your own delusion of that particular third party\'s exclusitivity is just idiotic.

WTF is your problem? you sound like a reverendxbox if he was a PS2 fan...

EA expected sony to have those 10million PS2\'S out by march 2001 and that ALL of their expected sales of software would only be meet if sony shiped those consoles...sony can not do it

5million-japan
2.5million-US
2,5million-europe/aus

i\'m pretty sure that is the plan...do you really think they can do it?

EA has aleady taken a big hit because sony did not deliver...

IMO it really makes no sense for EA to go to xbox(after all the money they have spent on PS2)

the shortage IMO is THE biggest mistake sony has or ever will do with PS2.

PS: in-case you havn\'t noticed i did\'nt call you a retard or a idiot i hope you don\'t do it again.
. I\'ve said it before and I\'ll say it again, in terms of ingenuity, exclusivity, and console competition, X-Box brings nothing to the table except a fat wad of cash and some rehashed PC components wrapped with a DC controller and a plastic black box.----RYU

I hate it when gamers get worried that another future system will top the current system. Each console will have their great titles. And if you are a gamer, you will buy each system for...its games. It\'s not about Specs or Power, or how many polygons it can push. Do you think we all gave a flying **** about polygons when we had our SNES and our Genesis? No, we played games with no worries. And most of us real gamers had both systems, and probably went back to play their NES every now and then also! All I am saying is get some hands on time with each system, if you like it, buy it. I am guessing most of us have PS2s, that\'s $300 well spent. X-Box will cost what $300 too? I would say try it, if you like it, buy it, if not wait for a price drop and/or some game that really grabs your attention. Gamecube will set you back about $200 and it\'s by Nintendo. I know you all bash the **** out of the Big N, but you know deep inside that you have a love for Miyamoto and his games. Oh and BTW, I hope you all own a DC. Great system in my opinon. I hope i helped.

Will some of you people please sell me you crystal ball?  We have no clue as to who will come out on top other than ourselves this generation.

Are you kidding me, don\'t make up sh[/i]it like that, just get out of your laughable Sony fantasy world. Nintendo\'s NES market share made Sony\'s of today look small yet Nintendo has since plummeted like a brick since the NES days.

Futhermore why can\'t Reverand argue if X-Box will sell more than Playstation 2? Such is the nature of business I accept the possibility that Dreamcast will sell 80 Million units and Gamecube will sell 5 Million...unlikely but it is a posibility that im open to accepting. Personally I think your a lot smarter then some of the rubbish i\'ve seen you post and your only letting yourself down with stupid comments like the aforementioned one.

. the xbox WILL NEVER possess a larger user base! oops, i said it again. i dont need facts to back up every single post, or claim. that my friend, shows insecurity. i know there will be more ps2\'s in people homes, than xbox. wanna know how i know this? ITS COMMON SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea there you go again, define Common Sense. I see it as a view accepted by the majority and usually questioned by a minority, as evidence let me show you the following -

- It was common sense in 1600 to say the Earth was flat.

- It was common sense in 1800 to say Flying Machines were science fiction.

- It was common sense in 1900 to say landing on the Moon in 69 years was a fantasy.

See what im getting at, what makes sense today isn\'t a certainty to make sense tomorrow. I guess if it wasn\'t for the minority and if we all shared mm\'s common sense theory we would still be stuck in the Dark Ages if not worse.

Still you have little to no clue when it comes to marketing do you, i\'d really love for you to say that there\'s at least a possibility Sony will not win this generation but sadly you seem to damn clueless to make that assertion.

trin, its yer goal here to argue with sony fans.  plain and simple.  ESPECIALLY me.  didnt u wonder why i never banned you, even when u asked for it.  at any rate, we can argue numbers, and "popular belief" all we want, but the "simple" nature of things is that sony is FAR more respected and known to the gaming public AND by people buying the consoles.  the xbox will NOT reach ps2\'s user base.  argue and deny it all u want.  ive stated REPEATEDLY that i plan on buying an xbox.  it will do fine, but not as well as the PS2, OR Ncube.  yer kommunist leader has spoken
