Ok you sit there and say that you dont buy a console until the second generation of games come throught, but you sit there saying how bad GC is based on First gen software, that you wasn\'t even playing, how about you play the games first then tell us what you think.
I have watched loads of ps2 dvd off magazines, that make the games look terrible, but it is only when you finally have that game running from the machine to your tv that you can tell what it is really like.
I am not haveing ago at you, because if that is how you feel, then that is how you feel, but i thought i should just say those couple of things, before you right the GC off.
On the 15 of March 2002, i was going to leave these forums for good.
But on the 16 of March i realised i couldn\'t ever say bye to you guys, so i am staying here for good!

No, you are quite wrong here.

Wrong about what? GT2000/GT3 A-Spec? Yeah sure, in your wet dreams.

Around the PS2 launch, there were loads of posts about GT3 or GT2000 and the shots look basically the same then as they did now. I was here then, you were not. Maybe some time after the PS2 launch but not that long. I remember perfectly.

Ah right, you remember perfectly. I was a webmaster of a PS2 site and I can assure you, there\'s a big graphical difference between GT2000 and GT3 A-Spec. Check the screen above, and you will already see that the GT2000 one has weak textures, bland colours, jaggies and kind of foggy sight. These do not appear in GT3. Believe me mate, I\'ve played the GT2000 demo (never released to the public) with my own two eyes. You might remember perfectly (LOL) what was posted here - I, however, have had hands-on experience. Can\'t prove me wrong, I know my facts.

You still never argued the fact that they were both developed by different developers(yes you rambled on but that was all BS). Polyphony=arguably the best racing developer out there. Namco= descent racing developer. That\'s why GT3 looks a hell of a lot better than RRV. Fact.

I don\'t need to, I was only argueing the fact that games improve and will so even on PS2 until its days are counted. GT3 might look better than RRV - but just look how much of effort was put in. GT3 (or at the time GT2000) were in development soon after GT2 was finished - how long did Namco take to develop Ridge Racer V? When were the two release dates? You are comparing a game that launched with the PS2 (RRV) and another one that was released over a year later.

By posting RR1 and RR4 pics, your most certainly not doing anything good for your argument. The PSX was supposedly easy to develop for, yet developers kept putting better and better looking games out each year. The same logic can be used for NGC whether you like it or not.

Where did I ever say anything about the NGC? I was just replying to Lord of Darkness\'s post. And yes, the PS2 requires more learning time than other consoles - developers themselves have stated this. Of course graphics on NGC will improve, I never said otherwise. On PS2 we will see great progress aswell.. graphics are going to improve a lot by the time they really figure things out. FACT as well.
