Sony lets Square release some old ports, plus maybe FFXI (Sony makes money of it anyways, remember that 20% thingy?) so people will go for GC instead of Xbox for Online games..

PS2 main threat on the Onlinemarket is the Xbox.

Just a thought.

The final fantasy game for the gamecube isn\'t online. ;)

You\'ll find at most forums you visit some information and general chat between friends and aquaintences that are unrelated to the topic tends to pop up.  Disappointed?  what boards aren\'t you disappointed with.

What did you expect us to say in this topic "Well done Nintendo, this is good news" for about 50 replies?  If the console \'debates\' were like this, then i wouldnt visit this part of theforum, it would be boring.  Fact is, this is a section for debates about the consoles, the topic is about a developer which XBox fanboys have wanted, and said they were getting for some time, now that (as Ryu pointed out) Nintendo fanboys are getting them without even wanting them, its kind of like a kick in the nuts to the X-Boys..

I think its great news for Nintendo.  Even though its a cartoon game and its not online, it will still probably be the best game for the gamecube.   They finally get a good game.  Cheers Nintendo....  Learn from this and give Mario sunshine the boot. :)

Some replies seemed like some of you are actually threatened by this news....

I think its awesome, when more companies intertwine with each other, better games are made, and being a gamer, thats what I want.

One thing: Just because it\'s based on the Final Fantasy anime doesn\'t mean that it\'s going to be a cartoon game. (using cel-shading ala Jet Grind Radio or Cel Damage)

The chances are, if they do develop FF:U.. it\'ll be based on the anime but use a typical Square art style.
