Yeah, and I really should have known better. I was a big fan of the first Tomb Raider and haven\'t liked any since then, and I just decided to give the PS2 TR a try anyway. I will be trading it in this afternoon. Luckily I bought it used at Blockbuster for $19.99.

Back to Jak II, sounds like the frustration level is pretty high, but enjoyable eventually. I may rent it first after reading some of this. I was really looking forward to this game.
Good....Bad....I\'m the guy with the gun.

Alright guys...I have reached the point where I\'m enjoying the game.  I\'m 46% in and I\'m loving the weapons, however I wish it would revert back to normal fighting every now and then.  The hover board is groovy.

I\'m still not sold on the humongous world, I think it was just a way to add a few hours on to the gameplay.

My favorite missions so far are the metalhead hunt in the forest and the mission where you free the lurkers and take them to a drop point.

[sp]I also LOVED the fight with the Baron.  Jak and Daxter\'s end boss fight is my favorite of all time...I\'m hoping this game trumps it.  We\'ll see:)[/sp]

Damn you Ginko!

I\'ve been playing like non-stop, yet it seems you overtook me. I\'m just at 50% with over 15 hours stacked in...

SPOILER!!!!

At the mission where you have destroy 5 killships (or whatever they\'re called), I spent like over 40 attempts and about 4 hours! Anyway, my favorite mission so far is the one with the bombs and the hooverboard! Just love it!

Holy crap I can\'t put this freakin game down:p

Ginko, I\'ll admit that its frustrating, but its not impossible. I\'m only five hours into the game- escorting a kid through the city, but this game is sweet! This frame rate droping issue is not really annoying, the graphics are amazing.

It\'s also really cool that you can take the hover board anywhere and go out of the city tons of times. I gotta admit it, at first I was alittle upset about the game \'cause it was so hard, but now I can\'t get enough of it. You just need to take different approaches to the missions if you fail.:)

Those STUPID hellcats.  I\'m now at 67% and 12 hours.   If it weren\'t for the multiple retries and traversing across the city every objective then it would probably be more 6-8 hours.   IMO, a cheap way to make the game "longer".

The bomb the wells mission was quite fun.:)

SPOILER!!!  The Tomb of Mau is my favorite level so far...it\'s exactly what I was looking for in this game.   The second fight with the Baron is also kick ass.  Going back in the palace is not!! I\'m frustrated!!

the first encounter with the baron drove me crazy (with the fire tornados) is the second fight really really hard or just plain hard cause with this game its either one or the other

I died about 4 or 5 times fighting him the first time, same amount the second.  (Actually the game locked up on me when I delivered the final hit...I wasn\'t all that angry because the fight was actually fun and not nearly as hard as some of the missions.)

alright, I need help and I\'m really close to frustration now.

SPOILER (only for those that are past the tomb of mar)

How do the bug thing so that I can open the door? I know I have to touch them in a way that they don\'t explode and I have gotten past the first room - but damn, I just can\'t get 3 bugs to open the second room for me (or if I do, I\'m already half dead). Advice, please? Ginko? HELP!!!! :crying:

When you step on the on the switch you notice that all the bugs land on their back side.  There are three with jewels on their belly.

When the bugs drop in get a quick look at the area the three jewel bugs are in.  Got it?  Good...now quickly focus on the two that drop on the northwest side of the room.  Don\'t even take your eyes off them.  Just navigate Jak towards them trying your hardest to keep an eye on the both of them.  Hit them without spin kicking/punching any other bugs around them.

Now for the third...this bug likes to hang out in the group of bugs on the east side.

This may take you a few tries but I managed to get all three without a mistake by my 6th or 7th try.

Don\'t worry about touching the bugs, they don\'t hurt you.  Just be sure not to attack anything but the jewel beetles.

Good Luck:)

ah thanks a lot. I didn\'t even notice that 3 of them have a jewel on them. I found a good way actually... simply use the hoverboard spin until all are gone (hard way)... lol

thank you so much!

No problem:D

I did the exact same thing of not noticing the jewels.  You\'ll also be glad to know that the game gets a little more enjoyable from here on out...or as far as I\'ve gotten.  The missions still have a few cheap tricks but it\'s mostly starting to even out.
