PSP\'s impressing me. But it\'s imho also somewhat \'flawed\' :
- UMD disc media.
The complications which that system will play a role throughout
the whole of PSP\'s life. Kind of like PS2\'s 4mb VRAM. So, not in a way it\'ll be the death of PSP\'s potential succes, but still a hurdle
to be taken by every game made for PSP.
Nintendo\'s cartridge policy is imo indeed the Ideal. Ok, a 1,5 Gb
cart would be way too expensive in PSP\'s timeframe now.
However, I had given thought to an alternative idea for a cart-based PSP ;
- PSP cart size @ 512 mb
- PSP game on that cart to fit on that cart in compressed form.
- PSP equipped with 1 Gb ( Flash ? ) memory.
Now, if the game folds out it could spread over both the cart and PSP 1Gb memory.
This would increase PSP price point a bit but it would also mean better battery life and shorter loading times. 100% shock proof and probably even more thin becuz there\'s no disc drive. Or is my idea completely absurd ?
