Edit: As stated above, this happens in LA often, you\'ll never hear me crying about them either.

You\'ll be singing a different tune when your house actually burns up. And what I don\'t get is why people live in areas where there is always a high risk of fire or mudslide. I\'ve read news articles of people complaining of a mudslide but yet, they were told when they moved in that it was such a high risk. I just don\'t get it. I\'m living as far away from that shit as possible.

Just about every area you live in is going to be at risk to some natural disaster, its life. Yeah, yeah, there are areas that are at a higher risk, but for the most part these things don\'t just jump out of nowhere.  The people I know who got hit in Sylmar in the last fires had warning and got out as quickly as possible.  They stayed with other family until things calmed down.

And no, I won\'t be singing a different tune.  My life > my possessions.  I\'ll let my insurance handle the replacement process.

Great that a small amount of people can make the entire american population look like c@#ts.

You already thought it for no reason well before which is probably why you\'re getting this response.  I guarantee most people here have no actual contempt against Australia.

Damn right....wrap my ass up in a wet towel and i\'m goin\' back in to get my ps3!!........on a serious note tho,..the very last outbreak of fires that broke out in cali not too long ago was terrorfying....the smoke was sooo thick and dark that it actually blanketed the whole sky within the immediate area,..even tho it was supposedly sunny out. It actually looked like it was nighttime outside.

So yeah even if you do escape there\'s a chance you can get caught in that thick black smoke...it really is nothing to mess around with.
