I mean with it being rushed and it leaving out features that were supposed to be in the game, and also leaving out the 3 point shhoot-out. But I think Live 2002 will be the biggest comeback when it come out.

I hope it will be better, but leaving out a 3-point contest wasn\'t one of its biggest problems. Lack of a franchise mode, inconcistent player models, and a horrible default view were just a few.

I know that was just one of the things in the game left out that I wanted in the game.

I certainly hope so. It will have to be or people will buy NBA2k by Sega.

I think they shouldnt of released NBA Live 2001. They should of just spent the time on 2002.

I don\'t think NBA Live 2002 will be any huge improvement.  I\'ve been playing this series on the PC every year since 95, and they have never made massive leaps in the gameplay, only in the graphics technology.  This IS a fair comparison because the PS2 version of 2001 is almost identical to the PC version of 2000.  (Except for the stuff they left out, as mentioned above)

What they (or someone else... :)) need to do is really build the game up to look much MORE like a real NBA television broadcast.  Do some stuff with the players entering the building in their street clothes, insert shots of the coaches arguing with officials, put in some REAL halftime entertainment (3D dance team?) and get some better voice talent.  I\'m getting so sick of Don Foyer.  If they\'d just spend some money and get Bill Walton and Danny Ainge, that would be really awesome.  Also, they need to buy more true NBA music.  Someone should finally put down some bucks to get Gary Glitter\'s "Rock and Roll Part 2."  That alone would really set this game apart.

I know all this stuff is expensive, but I think it\'s what they need to do.  Eventually it\'s going to get to the point where visually the various NBA games will all look great, and the one that stands out will have great gameplay and tons of extras.  That\'s what I think anyway.

I liked last years version, I didnt see what people were mad about, it was a fun game.  The only objection I had was that if you made a break toward the basket sometimes the wouldnt finsh it off with a dunk even if that player could dunk, he would take a stupid jump shot and miss.  If EA can find a way to also create a better fast break i\'ll be set for the next season

Bill Walton and Danny Ainge?!

Bill Walton: The biggest piece of texas trailerpark trash walking god\'s green earth. He always contradicts his statements

ex: "Kobe Bryant is a very selfish player, and If he doesn\'t get his head on straight the lakers future seems to be very black."

contradiction: "I never had any doubts about this kid Marv.....he\'s the best player in the whole league"

Then we have danny ainge who has no clue on what he\'s talking about whatsoever.

Who they should have are either Marv Albert and Matt Goukus (sp?)

or

Bob Costas and Doug Collins.

If you define \'much better\' as;

slightly improved graphics, new intro sequence, franchise mode a few subtle changes....

Then yes, Live will be much better.

BUT

If you define \'much better\' as;

much better gameplay...

Then no, it\'ll be another one of EA Sports\' uninspired sequels.

Y\'know, any commentary they record from any of these people is not going to be insightful when it\'s triggered in a game.  I don\'t care if Bill Walton was contradictory on occasion, and btw Danny Ainge knows a hell of alot about basketball.  What I\'m really thinking about is... which voices can I bear to listen to at all?  I think Walton is very funny, and I like Ainge because of his association with the Suns.  I believe Goukas or Costas would be OK, but I really despise Collins and Marv Albert.  Albert is such a narrow 2-dimensional NBA bootlicker, I wish he had remained in exile.  God if I have to ever again hear him say "ITS A SPEC-TACULAR SHOT!!!" about (a) Michael Jordan or (b) Kobe Bryant, I will go on a killing spree, I swear I will.

After playing "street" I have confidence that "Live" will return with a vengeance!
