I don\'t think NBA Live 2002 will be any huge improvement. I\'ve been playing this series on the PC every year since 95, and they have never made massive leaps in the gameplay, only in the graphics technology. This IS a fair comparison because the PS2 version of 2001 is almost identical to the PC version of 2000. (Except for the stuff they left out, as mentioned above)
What they (or someone else...

) need to do is really build the game up to look much MORE like a real NBA television broadcast. Do some stuff with the players entering the building in their street clothes, insert shots of the coaches arguing with officials, put in some REAL halftime entertainment (3D dance team?) and get some better voice talent. I\'m getting so sick of Don Foyer. If they\'d just spend some money and get Bill Walton and Danny Ainge, that would be really awesome. Also, they need to buy more true NBA music. Someone should finally put down some bucks to get Gary Glitter\'s "Rock and Roll Part 2." That alone would really set this game apart.
I know all this stuff is expensive, but I think it\'s what they need to do. Eventually it\'s going to get to the point where
visually the various NBA games will all look great, and the one that stands out will have great gameplay and tons of extras. That\'s what I think anyway.
