Well...this is definitely one of the best looking movies of the game, thus far. I was a little disappointed with the first movies I saw...now I\'m totally stoked!! The clothes move, the messy hair moves all over the place, and the walls shake violently when you smash an opponent up against it. I can\'t wait for a direct-feed trailer...and high-broadband connections rock (hail to T1...:D). What do you guys think of the movie and the progress of the game so far?? Come on...you can voice your opinion...(and NO criticizing people...)...;)

This is what I posted in the "Tekken 4 MONSTER MOVIE" thread:

Quote
The wall combos are a lot better than I expected. It looks like there are a lot of ways to get away from the wall, so if you get caught in a wall combo, it\'s your fault and you deserve to get your butt wasted!  On the other hand, it is really easy to get pushed into the wall. The new position change moves look very cool. The ability to throw your apponent in any direction (switch places, push them back more, throw them to the left of you or right of you) is going to make Tekken 4 a very offensive fighting game. Turtles will now die!

The graphics are very good. When I first saw the pictures of Tekken 4, I didn\'t think it would look too much better than DOA2:HC. But now that I\'ve seen it in motion, and seen how big and detailed the levels are, I think it is comparible to DOA3, or even better. The animation is a lot more fluid than in previous Tekkens, and the gameplay is extremely fast. The players move around the level very fast, getting from one side of a level to the other very quickly. While in DOA2, it was harder to move through the level unless you just took off running.

Before I thought that the DOA series was the king of background interactivity, and that Tekken was the king of gameplay. Now I\'m starting to think that Tekken is taking over the background interactivity part too.  While Tekken does not have any falling off cliffs, breaking through walls, etc (that we know of), the wall combos give Tekken the edge.

Kazuya looks like he\'s not as bad as I thought he was. I was a little disappointed when I saw him fight in the first movie against Steve, but now that I\'ve seen a good player use him, I\'m happy. He looks better than ever.

It\'s too bad they didn\'t show any good players using Yoshi or King.

I still want interactive backgrounds on a smashing scale... But the gameplay is enough to keep me interested for a long time. :) I still play T3 today.. So i\'m sure i\'ll love T4.

Tekken 4 won\'t be released until July 20th in Japan, and early August in the US (not sure about everywhere else).  VF4 won\'t be released until late August in Japan.  You might get lucky and find an arcade where it\'s being beta tested, but other than that, you won\'t see it.  May I ask why you are going to Japan? (You are so lucky!)

I agree, I loved it when I mistakenly found that inner level with the big dragon in DOA2:H.  I wonder if they stuck anythin glike that in this game???

I was getting sea sick from the movie!  I wish they would just release the footage found at these conventions on the web so that people don\'t have to sneak in video cameras!

Oookay, took me 2 hours to d/l that damn .avi, but finally I got to see the movie (the lower-quality one) :

To me it looks like Tekken 3 on steroids. And not any usual steroids! The characters look cool with nice detailing (Paul now has hanging droopy hair! Hah, must\'ve run out of "Stick\'em up" -Hair gel). The action looks fast and furious, and the backgrounds are surprisingly pretty.

What comes to background interaction, it doesn\'t look like anything special. There are walls, you can smash your opponent nose-first into them, that\'s it... I\'d really love if you could put your opponent into a knot around the railing on the roof or something, but you can\'t have everything. Also, the multi-layered levels seen in DoA2 would be nice too, but no trace of that.

The graphics look fast and clean, though the shadows do look a bit weird occasionally and aren\'t projected onto the walls (see garage level). I so love to nitpick about little details.

Overall, I was positively surprised by the graphics, but I kinda expected more radical gameplay alterations (mainly ones involving usage of interactive background elements) and interactive backgrounds... anyways, this one\'s a sure hit already.

Has anyone found any mirrors of this?  I\'m d/l now on a T-1 and getting ~2k/sec.  (normal, I know from the other thread, but still...)

I posted a lot of mirrors in the other thread, but there is no guarantee that those will be any faster. :)

True, but there is still time to fix those problems.  This is the beta version. :)  And if they don\'t fix those little problems, will it even matter?  When you are playing, I\'m sure you will be focusing on staying away from the walls instead of how crappy the shadows look. :)

Ya\' know...? If you have a broadband connection you should really get a download accelerator. Go to http://download.cnet.com">Download.comand use the search words "download speed" and see which program is best for you...:D I recommend FlashGet for PC. I was downloading at 1.2KB/sec without a download accelerator. Then I used FlashGet and was downloading at 100KB/sec. Stop complaining and start downloading...sheesh
