Square is finally going multi-console with Final Fantasy.

erm...i skipped just about this whole thread...but i read the articles that said FFXI was going to XBox...its hardly Square switching sides and developing for XBox...and it doesnt really hurt Sony in any way...Square fans still have to buy a PS2, and every other Square game (so far) is exclusive to PS2.  The only Square game XBox is getting, is an online \'Final Fantasy\'...which really isnt a final fantasy in my books

Plus didnt\' square say ff10, 11, 12 are going to be for ps2 only?  Your right they will proably get the online version(the ghetto final fantasy) but no the real thing.

The article also says it may come to Gamecube... The article said "multiplatform" not "Xbox exclusive"

If Square did jump ship totally and developed for other systems, it would be a huge problem for Sony. But this announcement, doesn\'t really effect them, in my opinion.

well i see this as a good move really i mean the Xbox guys will get to see what they are missing and might have to reconsider the PS2 as a buy - but once sqaure put their foot in with Microsoft will they like it too much and drop sonys eclusiveness because wasn\'t this title suppost to be a PS2 exclusive till now - whos to say they won\'t chnage their mind with the others if this one sales well with Xbox

How many more FF can there possibly be?  So far we have I -> XII, tactics, anthology, chronicles, 3 GB versions, and I think there is one more.

I think that they should close the book on FF within the next few years, and then have guest appearances on other games.  Don\'t get me wrong, I\'m a die-hard fan of FF.  But I\'m just thinking about some years from now when we\'ll be playing FF MCXVII.

Plus if mbox buys the rights to FF and makes it their exclusive, they\'ll look a lot like the Windows and Microsoft Explorer peeps.  Of course we\'ll buy it. . . but we won\'t like it!

But that\'s far down the road of tomorrow.  I\'m still at the fork in the road of today.
