Too many points to agree upon. But as a whole, I agree with Lestat. I was hoping for Nintendo to bring back the magic in this generation, and I am wholely disappointed. I am sure Zelda will be a wonderful experience, and I\'m sure its gameplay will be top notch. But I suppose growing up is a part of life. Like when collecting baseball cards isn\'t your thing anymore. I grew up w/Nintendo, loved all their franchises,. but as I look back now, and think of how great all that was, I was young. The thought of playing a Saturday-morning-cartoon-Link does not appeal to me now. It\'s the Link I\'ve outgrown, and a Link I will let die. You can fight all you want about meager opinions, but in the end, that\'s all they are. Opinions.
Maybe I\'m outgrowing videogames as a whole, because as more time passes, I find myself less and less interested in certain games. Or perhaps this all relates back to that Casual gamers thread that Ryu started. Technologically speaking, this new GC Link looks awesome. Never has a game resembled a real cartoon so closely. And I am glad that the GC is indeed a mighty system. But if that power will be used to bring cartoons to life, then I don\'t care for it. Only time will tell what happens, but @ this point I am severely disappointed. (with PS2 / Xbox / and GC )
Don\'t turn this into a flaming war, but I feel the same way as Lestat. If you are enthusiastic for the new Zelda/Mario/Metroid, then I too envy you, I wish I could remember what that feeling was like. Peace out.
(Chances are, that in the end, I will still get a GC + Zelda, but it is not the Zelda I had envisioned, the Zelda I hoped for. Unfortunately as Lestat put it, I will have to swallow it.)
