Resident Evil, I will miss you. :(

Oh crap.  This is a sad day for all PS2 fans.  PS2.ign.com reported earlier that tonight there would be an announcement in Japan about RE4.  They were assuming it would be a good announcement for the PS2, but they were wrong.

This news that Famitsu just posted is a huge blow to all PS2 fans everywhere.

The NGC now has a good chance of winning this console war.  This should make the "Xbox or NGC" decision a little bit easier for everyone.

This occurece is almost as big as the slap in the face that Square gave Nintendo 6 years ago.  Nintendo definitely has a good chance of becoming number 1 again.  DAMN IT!  I wanted Resident Evil on my newly purchased PS2!!!  Oh wait, I can still get a graphically inferior version of Code Veronica for the PS2.  The GC version will no doubt look better.....have you guys seen the screens for RE: 1 for the GCN?  DAMN, THIS IS DEPRESSING!

Not to mention the beautiful movie that is posted in the same thread.  IMO, the NGC has a good chance to dominate once again.  I don\'t know if I\'m happy that Nintendo is coming back, or sad that Sony, my new love , could be beaten.  I still can\'t believe that RE4 is a NGC exclusive.  This was all but confirmed to be coming to the PS2.

It seems right now that the PS2 will have one more great year.  But after that, I\'m not so sure.  This year the PS2 will be huge, but after that, there isn\'t too much announced.  FFX and Tekken 4 are the only big titles I can think of coming next year.  I guess the only thing I can do is enjoy the PS2 as much as I can now, because it is going to rock this year.

Can\'t Sony buy the RE series back again?!

1st they say they\'r goin multi-platform on everythin, then they said dc3 will be x-box exclusive, and now re gone gc exclusive.  wtf, re4 was originally planed for dmc.  they say they want to make it so u dont have to get so much systems for re, but how bout other games like dc, onimusha, dmc

So wat ur saying is that they are releasing RE4 onto NGC b4 they release it onto PS2? Or they arent going to release RE4 at all onto PS2 and only onto NGC? if so PS2 is gonna suck next Tomb Raider will be for NGC and not PS2 GODDAMMIT if thats true im pissed off!!!

i feel so bad for all those that THINK  nintendo can be #1 again because of resident evil....
thats just one game...
plus you gotta remember its nintendo...aka the kiddie system...
chances are theyll make capcom  cater the game for a younger audience... therefore ruining the series...goodluck.

RE 1 look\'s great. To bad is only going to be out for the NGC. To bad Capcom decided no to sell RE to what? 10 Millions PS2 owners out there?

Les, put your blind hatred for Nintendo aside and quit being a idiot. Nintendo won\'t make Capcom tone it down. Did they make them tone down Resident Evil 2 for the N64? No, they didn\'t. These won\'t be censored either and it is more than "one game" it is one complete "series" and a big series at that. It won\'t make Nintendo number one, but it sure won\'t hurt them either.

Les, I remember the censorship of the original Mortal Kombat. Last I recall, Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 didn\'t have censorship now did it? No! So, what exactly was your point? Yes, Nintendo has its first party games catering to a younger audience but they are not limiting and instead encougaring third party to developers to make mature titles.

I remember that time well.  I was a proud owner of the uncensored Genesis version.  But like Living said, the second game was not censored on the SNES, and the SNES version was better than the Genesis version. (I don\'t remember MK3 being on the SNES.  I only had it for the PSX so I can\'t comment on that.)

Nintendo doesn\'t have to as long as there are third party developers making mature games.  And as it looks right now, the NGC\'s third party support is a lot better than it has been for years, and it can only get better.

clip,  i was just responding to ironfists claim that nintendo has always been an all around console gaming company when indeed it hasnt...for those that played the nes and snes as a younging,  like myself,  we didnt feel as if their games were kiddie or so,  but looking back at them now,  i can admit that theyre games were chilidish and only got worse on the n64...

yes mk2 wasnt censored like part 1 but it was missing a lot from the arcade version...there was sooo much blood missing and i dont know if it was the systems capabilities or if they were still trying to tone it down,  besides as i posted on a thread long ago,  there were soo many censorships with nintendo\'s games from blood and violence to nudity or partial nudity....

therefore just because theyre bringing the RE series doesnt mean that they will change theyre ways because that will go against theyre morals and family entertainment values...

yes the series looks awesome,  and since i didnt go through them on the psx due to laziness (i cant play them now cause they look like ass),  this could be an incentive to go through them once and for all....but im not going to cheer and throw a festival over this one series because its not enough to justify them in my book because in the end,  they will continue with their kiddie vision...

my hatred for nintendo doesnt make me blind to how awesome and realistic this series looks like though...but ofcourse,  its capcom,  not nintendo...so i only tip my hat to capcom.
