Explain The Desire To Have The XBOx Fail
« on: September 24, 2001, 07:52:21 AM »
Hi,

I am really curious as to why there are some on this board who want to see the XBox fail or any console for that matter.  I have never been able to understand this concept.

I hope the next console, who ever makes it, will be better than the last. I own a PS2 and a Dreamcast and have owned many systems from different companies over the years. I also orderd an XBox. I just want the best games to play and I don\'t care if it comes from MS or Sony. If the Game Cube gives me good reason to buy it I will.

So, is it because you don\'t have the cash (not trying to be funny) or is it because you don\'t like the company for some reason?

What do you think will happen if Sony is the only one left standing?

I don´t like the x-box, because it is made by Microsoft, I don´t like that company. I have had very bad experience with their products. They act like they own the world. But now Microsoft has to jump on the videogame-train because they are losing the war against linux bigtime. The way they treat their costumers is pathetic.
I´m sorry but I can´t like anything that MS creates, and I will not buy anything from them as long as there products sucks.

So MS is the enemy because they dominate a certain part of the computer market?

i dont understand why microsoft is hated so much when the majority of those haters,  PIRATE their software...yeah windows is limited and IE is limited,  and we have to succomb to microsofts monopoly,  but were not paying for windows 2k or ME or XP..so why complain...it bothers me so much when people complain about free stuff.....and bossieman: if you actually buy microsofts products then you have everyright to complain,  otherwise,  save your hatred cause its not worth it...the xbox could be a kickass console meaning better games for us all to enjoy...

maybe, with the ps2 price drop and insiders saying that xbox will be 1000 guldens ($ 399 us) and being released in 2002 I can\'t see much hope. NGC will outsell it here in holland for sure

I\'m not sure how it will do here, or overseas. I just find it funny that there are people who want to see it fail because the word Microsoft will be placed on the console. And this goes for other systems, I am sure there are Sony haters who like to see the PS2 fail.

well i cal those people biased mostly or very ignorant

i mean think about it - i could see hating microsoft and what not but no one forces you to buy their products or use them for that matter

now if the xbox comes out and sucks then yea you can hate it all you want but till then you are just a biased person

You guys are making no sense.

Everyone hates MS because it is cool to do so.  If you were Bill Gates you would conduct business in the exact same way.  Who wouldn\'t.

Just because Gate is an excellent businessman people hate him.

MS is not losing aginst Linix.  When was the last time you heard anything about linix in the mass media?  It hasn\'t caught on and it will achieve Apple proportions at best.  Is it a better OS?  No, not yet because of the support issues, but it does many other things very well.  But one thing is for sure, MS is not losing the war.

When Netscape was dominating the marketplace--no one complained.  They had a monopoly.  Enter MS and their incredibly better browser and it takes over.  Sure they stole a lot of the ideas that Netscape invented, but they improved on them and made browsing the internet better/easier (not to mention web designers loath to work on netscape).

People hate Gate because they are jealous of his success and it is cool to do so.  That\'s pretty much it.
Language services three functions. The first is to
communicate ideas. The second is to conceal ideas. The
third is to conceal the absence of ideas.

But why don\'t you like MS?

Will not liking their OS or other software package they sell going to keep you from buying the XBox?

I agree you should probably take a wait and see attitude. I am just a freak about this stuff so I usually preorder.

I have no problems with Microsoft, I am excited for X-Box because I play videogames and not brand names.
